Re: Prop Shaft Rebuild CD 36
Yes the downward angle on a CD 36 is close to 15 degrees. The limit for a Perkins 4.108. Some sailboats angle to the side a few degrees so the shaft can be removed without having to remove the rudder. Prop walk is actually something that it useful/desirable when docking. At speeds above 2 knots stee...

Re: Prop Shaft Rebuild CD 36
John,
Feathering props do not change propwalk. Propwalk is a result of the shaft angle. They do however increase the thrust available in reverse and make it easier to to use propwalk to your advantage.

Re: Installing air conditioning unit in Cape Dory Daysailor
I have no experience with this alternative. However, it is the only 12v (or 24v) air-conditioning unit I have found for marine use. It is also very expensive. Though, they did try to sell me an older unit at about half price.

Re: C36 Anchor Locker
I did improve the drainage in the port locker by cutting holes in the floor. (used for a three strand rode). The edges of the ply were then coated with tung oil.

Re: CD 36 Ice Box Insulation
Used an Aerogel product called Spaceloft to insulate under the counter top. It has an 3xR factor over styrofoam. Then covered it with PVC sheeting. That should help the major insulation issue, condensate forming on the counter top. I didn't have the shelves, but the original teak track were still th...

Hull #13?
I have been doing some research (oh no here we go). As I am selling Skylark and, searching for a larger boat as well. In this process, I have compiled spreadsheets for the CD36, CD40 and, CD45 (including the Robin Hood produced boats). Almost evert HIN can be found vessel registration records (USCG ...

Re: Sailmaker
I use North Sails in Annapolis for most cleaning and repairs. The also have certified/approved sailmakers in the locations. When I was in NC I had Allison Sails in Wilmington clean my sails and make new sail covers.

Cockpit Scuppers
Has anyone removed the bronze cockpit scuppers? The ones on my CD 36 weep when it rains and should be rebedded.
