head to head
For a spinnaker that is symmetrical, the halyard should attach to the head of the sail above and forward of the headstay. The headsail halyard will not accomplish this. You may also need a spin pole (not a wisker pole), upper and lower pole guys and a reaching strut. your mast should also have a pol...

"lean out not hike out "
mr. V. Try this simple test to prove stravation of fuel makes an engine run faster. 1. Shut the fuel petcock on your lawnmower. 2. Start the lawnmower. 3. Before the engine dies from lack of fuel, you will notice a discernable increase in rpm. YES I know most real sailors don't own lawnmowers. Just ...

here is a trick I learned years ago. If you want to boil 2 gallons of water on burner three, split up 2 gallons of water between the two front burners. This will balance the stove and allow the gimbal to operate properly. You don't have to heat up the front burners, they are there for the wieght you ...

spindrift
hi saltshaker imho the drifter will be built of lighter material than the asym. the drifter will have considerably more draft built into the sail than the asym. the asym depending on sailcloth weight can be used on more points of sail and in higher wind speeds than a drifter. the drifter is a very s...

2stroke vs 4 stroke
I would recommend a 2 stroke,, plus they are slowly being banned in the US. As for brands, I am a huge fan of yamahas, most full time cruisers swear by them for reliability._________________

SPIN CAR MOVEMENT
Speaking of a spinnaker car, today I was fooling around with my genoa with it poled out with a spinnaker pole. The ring on my mast is stationary. What is the purpose of having it on a track other than using it to store the pole vertically ala the Pardey's? Always learning, Scott SCOTT, you may wish...
