CD Typhoon for sale - FL $3,100
I hate to sell her, but I just don't have time to maintain and sail her! She is a great boat, but the teak could use a rub and the topsides could use some paint. Trailer is great - new axle, hubs, and springs. Comes with motor mount and long shaft 3 hp Tohatsu - pushes her along great. I have 5 sail...

Re: Free Typhoon Parts
I could certainly use the sails! Mine are pretty old. Where are you located?

Re: Typhoon outboard motor
I use a 3 hp long shaft and it gives me plenty of push. I have a short shaft, too, but really comes out of the water too much especially if I have to go forward.

Re: Typhoon trailer poppets - distance between?
I have a different Typhoon Trailer question...I need to replace the axle on my single axle typhoon trailer. I know the displacement on the Typhoon is 2,000 lbs. Should I get a 2,000 lb axle or 3,500 lb?

Re: trailer wheel bearings
I don't know about bearings, but I always have bearing buddies on my trailers. I really like being able to grease them good before every trip.

Great Sail in St. Augustine this weekend
I've been promising my 16 year old son that we'd do an overnight on the Typhoon. Last time we did that he was probably 4! Had a blast. St. Augustine is a great city to explore by boat and foot! Here are some pix. Lot of effort to get the boat cleaned up, loaded up, and launched. But, time with 16 yr...

Re: Repair Inflatable Dinghy
I used the ol' soapy water approach and quickly found a small puncture. Easily fixed and she was as good as new this weekend.
Had an enjoyable sail in St. Augustine, FL.

Re: Typhoon transport
I'm impressed that BMW Wagon can pull the Typhoon out! I use an old jeep because I've got to get it back into the water - I don't have an extension. (And I am not going to get one, because then the wife could see no reason to keep the jeep!) Does it have any problem pulling it out?

Re: Repair Inflatable Dinghy
Well, the seam was easy enough to fix. All I was doing was gluing the two pieces together. Came together just fine and seems very strong. But, now it appears I also have a slow, unidentifiable leak! I had it in storage for 2 years and now it isn't holding air as it should. Has anyone used that Infla...

Re: The best rum
So, I like all kinds of rum. But really like those from Barbados - I don't know why, but they seem to be the smoothest for drinking straight. But...I tried something new two weeks ago. Took pint of Myers dark, a pint of white rum, and a quart of amber rum and poured them into a glass container. In t...

Repair Inflatable Dinghy
I use a 6 ft inflatable for my dinghy and recently the bottom seam came apart from the side tube. I bought some PVC adhesive from West Marine and I'm going to apply it this weekend. Anyone have recommendations on how to "apply pressure" once the goop has gotten tacky on both sides of the r...

Re: Typhoon transport
I have my Typhoon on a trailer and am so glad I do...none of the headaches of marina or mooring - and I get to look at her daily! I really like being able to work on her whenever I have a spare minute....not as often as I like!
You are going to love sailing her! Such fun boats.

Re: Inflatable Dinghy Floor Opinions Wanted
Hey Bill - I have a 6 ft West Marine inflatable with wood slat floor. But, the slats are spaced about 4 inches apart, at least. So, the floor is really just the PVC fabric with stringers of wood. Not very satisfying, to me. And the stringers have to be pretty flexible, or they would poke holes in th...

Re: Has anyone shorten the sail to raise the boom on a Ty?
Well, quite by accident I grabbed the storm main instead of the regular main when I went out this last weekend. It had been cut along the 'luff' edge (from tack to head - and by that I mean from the end of the boom to the mast head)- but I don't know by how much. I'd have to measure it. It was notic...
