Re: Want to Buy

The only issue with Sailboat listings is nothing seems to age off. There are 10yr old postings.

Re: VHF Help:)?

If when you didn't have an antenna hooked up you hit the transmit button you may have fried the radio.

Re: how to handle a CD 36 in reverse

Get the book Maneuver and Dock Your Sailboat Under Power, then have a friend go out to just be there and practice. Full keels can be hard and sometimes you may have to dock somewhere else and wait for the conditions to get easier.

Re: Typhoon Hoist Strap

When my C25 was lifted in the travel lift they always tied a line just above the water line to the 2 straps. Granted a single lifting point like some of the dry sailing cranes I have seen will not be as apt to slide forward. I still wouldn't take a chance.

Re: Zinc Chromate Paint and Barnacles 2022 results

I have been using Pettit Barnacle Barrier prop paint both in Ct. and De. waters with good results. It is about $35 in a spray can. I have used it on both a fixed blade prop and my current Flexofold prop.

Re: water ballast while sailing

I always filled mine, but look at how the boat sits. The heavier your outboard is the more you will need it. Hopefully you have nothing larger then a 6HP.

Re: Cape dory 25 anchor rode locker

My CD25 had one. The issue was you cannot get to the line once it goes below deck. I never had an issue with it though.
