Exactly the same thing happened to me. You can also buy a new tiller from Defender. You can find them at defender.com based in Waterford, CT. Put the word tiller in the search box.

Yes, the sole was dry today. I too thought this was too simple a reason. Thanks for your confirmation. I was/am a bit surprised that merely 6 people sitting in the cockpit was too many.

Water on cockpit sole

Last night I had more people on my 25 than I had ever entertained - only 6 of us -we were on an anchor watching the fireworks in Three Mile Harbor - and I had a thin covering of water on the cockpit sole which I had never experienced before. It stayed below the teak flooring so it was not a problem,...

I have a continuous line Hood roller furler on my boat that I have had no problems with. When you say two line do you mean a continuous line? If it is, I can make some suggestions that may be helpful. I am not at home but have an interesting article which I would be happy to send you. As to basic ma...

Mast cable socket.

How far or how close from where the mast steps on the deck should I make the hole for an electrical cable socket without compromising the strength of the deck?

I appreciate any help with this.

Weight of the tiller

I just put a new tiller on my CD25 - don't ask what I did to the old one just that I'm glad that I did not know about it until I had docked after an interesting outing in 20 to 25kt winds. The new tiller is 5 lbs in weight, the one before was 4 lbs. I liked the idea of a longer tiller that I would b...

I spoke to them yesterday and they said they were making new ones and they would be at least 6 weeks. I suppose the pin is specific to the boat size??

Missing Pin

Would anyone know where I can get the pin that holds the docking line in the bow fairlead on a 25?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Wise man.

I met an old salt at the marine store the other day. He was pushing an old household radiator on a cart. He said they make for the best mooring he'd ever had.

Thanks David. I'll give it a try and let you know how that works. My concern would be keeping off the twin Mercurys on my starboard side as the stern swings in the wind and letting go the bow line at the same time, but that's why we love doing it all alone isn't it.

No finger dock

I really appreciate everyone's suggestions. Carter - the marina is east of the entrance to Three Mile Harbor, called Hog Creek. A lot cheaper than any of the marinas in Three Mile Harbor. you have to belong the community of houses surrounding the inlet there. Now I know what those little floating do...
