BoaterBits bronze cleats prices are per PAIR
Nevis, Those prices I posted in Buy/Sell for the bronze cleats from Boaterbits are PER PAIR, in other words, more than half off Spartan Marine. They have all the cleats you'll need. I've ordered from them before and they are great. Here's their store: http://stores.ebay.com/Boaterbits_Deck-Hardware_...

They have the 5" too -- pair new for $17
Kick me if I'm wrong, but aren't these the exact same 5" cleats Spartan Marine sells?

If you were interested in saving a little money, here's a pair of cleats for quite a price. "Buy it now" for $5.85. I bought some new line from these guys for the sheets this year, and it was great quality and dirt cheap. I think they are great. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SOLID-BRONZE-...

The Winthrop CD Fleet
There are two Typhoon Weekenders and one CD 25 at the Cottage Park Yacht Club just accross the harbor. We might be able to rally for the BHIR this year if they promise not to run out of food again. Although, given our numbers, what do people think of a regatta in Boston Harbor this summer just for C...

Socket
I had the same problem with a clog on the cockpit drains. I got a garden hose and tried to blast the blockage free with high pressure water. No luck. Then I pulled the boat, and tried the hose method again from below the boat upwards through the hull fitting. When I did, I heard a "clunk" ...

What you do depends on you
Hi jsin, I agree with all the advice you have been given. Basically, for a couple hundred bucks you are probably committing yourself to an investment, um, excuse me, "expense" of at least several thousand in order to make her sailable -- and that's if you do lots of the work yourself. BUT!...

Congrats of buying a Ty! You are going to love it! I'd be a little bit concerened about storing the gas tank below deck. I did for a while and it seemed like everytime I opened up the cabin I could smell fumes, even with the tank vent closed. I think when the boat heated up in the sun, the fuel expa...

Price affects consumer behavior
It's normal that when prices change, consumer behavior changes. The price of gasoline has been actually going down for 20 years, relative to the growth in personal incomes. Relative to inflation it has been flat. The Federal government opted not to tax gas as heavily as many other countries. (Europe...

Thanks!
Cathy, you're great!
The ABI compact Cowl vent from sailboat stuff is almost a perfect match for the OEM part, but in stainless and for less than $28/each.
It looks like Anna is going to get a little more jewlery this year! Thanks again and kindest regards.

PVC
I did look. Nicro only has PVC. I prefer not to use PVC, as I would like to replace the orginal chrome/zinc vents with something at least somewaht similar in appearance. NOS would of course be best, but I may be dreaming there. The bronze vents posted are pretty darn nice. I was in love until I saw ...

Nicro has PVC
I checked Nicro, they only have PVC clamshell vents. Pretty cheesey. Perko makes nicer ones -- chrome over zinc, but I prefer stainless or chrome over brass, or even bronze if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks again!

Where to find replacement stern vents for typhoon
I'd like to replace the old original vents on the stern of my typhoon. They work fine, but are very badly pitted. I'd like to replace then with either a new identical, or NOS part.
Does anyone know where these are available?

dunno
I'm not sure. I imagine the CD 25 may at least have longer pins. Try calling again and ask for Paul.
