there is a thing called hull speed. They may not have heard of it. I sail my CD25 often with just a 150 out.

I am fortunately out of the water. But the boat next to me(CD22) left his furler up and the sail was torn to shreds. Is boat looked like it was going to blow over so we tore down his sail.

Get your sails down for the winter.

Try to release the traveler to reduce weather helm.

Nice looking boat, it is always nice to sail past a Catalina

tohatsu 6hp

I have read great things about the tohatsu 6hp. I need to repower in a year or two. currently my Yamaha 9.9 sounds different each time I start it,not a good sign. The Tohatsu exhausts thru the prop so the hatch can be closed which is a big plus.

Blue

My 1975 CD25 non skid color is sky blue as well. The only color I have seen has been re-painted. Personel preference I guess, but I like the Blue. More traditional look IMHO.

I had the same problem last month. We hauled the boat and they were so clogged and seacocks were so bad we just replaced them. This is a poor design on the boat with 90 degree elbows in both drains. I tried everything. good luck. If they are the original seacocks, I would replace them.

Search nissan outboards for cd25

I did a search on this same topic last week and came up with some great information. I think the best solution may be a 6hp nissan. Good luck.

nissan 6hp?

Was it a 4stroke? That sounds great. I have a Yamaha 9.9 that moves the boat well. I may have to change power.

Thanks again.

Carter Brey

Did you sell The beautiful featured in "Good Old Boat"? I'm using that article as a reference for my CD25.

Any tips on getting the engine well to vent with it shut?

A wealth of information.

This is my first season with my CD25 and this website has been fantastic because of threads like this. I havn't had to reef my main yet, but it's blowin around 20 today in Rockport, Ma. so if I go out, I may have to. This boat, as you all know, can handle plenty of wind. I was out last week with a 2...

transducer

My CD25 has a thru hull transducer. there is a thru hull on either side of the keel beneath the berths, just before the head area. The previous owner had them installed. The depth is one the port side, knotometer is on starboard.
