Re: 25 vs 27
I bought a CD27. In fact, it is the very one in the picture above. I bought the trailer too. This is a picture of "Sequel", a 1977 CD27, hull #18. As far as standing headroom, I am six foot tall, and in the salon, I can stand up straight in most places, but I'll hit my head on the trim aro...

Typical price for bottom paint?
What is the typical price for a bottom paint job? I'm in Texas, and I need the old bottom paint removed, and new coats applied. Excluding the price of the paint, what is the labor cost for a CD27 approximately? Anybody have recent experience? Would it include painting a new waterline stripe? Thanks....

Looking for a serviceable Cape Dory 27 trailer. Does anybody have one they are willing to part with? Will pay a fair price depending on age and condition. Thanks.

Re: Where is the hiddin HIN on a CD27?
I believe your HIN will be CPDJ0140M79?, with the ? representing the month of production. Since you say you can see the ends of the HIN on your transom, maybe that letter will be there. The "CPD" represents Cape Dory Yachts, the "J0" represents the model (CD27), and the "140...

Re: Wanted: CD27
Thanks. Almost all of the vessel listings at smartmarineguide.com are well aged, and most are no longer responding to inquiries. The top two are live. But, yes, there were a wide range of asking prices, from $3.9k for a '80, to @25.5k for a '79. It is a matter of finding one that has the features an...

Wanted: CD27
I am in the market for a CD27, in good shape. Ideal for me: Roller furling headsail, self-tailing winches, halyard and reefing lines led to cockpit, repowered since new with a running engine, wheel steering, decent interior, decent sails, no radical modifications, decent hull and deck, with a traile...

Re: Dinghy sailing 2018
I have a shellback dinghy for sale. Built it myself in 1999 from the original plans. Lightly sailed in Dallas, Seattle, and back in Dallas. Been on the hard for a year now. Asking $2500. Good sails, oars, oarlocks. Hull is now fiberglassed, so it's a little heavier. PM me for photos. May take a few ...

CD28 with a coachtop traveller
I've seen a listing of a '77 CD28 with a coachtop traveller. Was this available as a factory produced feature, or is it an aftermarket mod? If aftermarket, it seems like the coachroof would need strengthening. If it wasn't strengthened, then that is inviting trouble. On the other hand, if it was a f...
