Wanted: CD27
Wanted: CD27
I am in the market for a CD27, in good shape.
Ideal for me: Roller furling headsail, self-tailing winches, halyard and reefing lines led to cockpit, repowered since new with a running engine, wheel steering, decent interior, decent sails, no radical modifications, decent hull and deck, with a trailer, and somewhere near Texas.
I am a realist however, and realize that I'll likely have to sacrifice several of these ideals, and get one with fewer, and then make it into something more ideal as time goes on.
The pandemic has made acquiring one somewhat more challenging. Far away from home is really challenging, as some states are now requiring quarantine for a couple weeks for visitors from Texas. So far, I am healthy, and I don't know anybody with the virus. I'd like to keep it that way.
So, if anybody is looking to sell a CD27 that meets some of the ideals, please PM me.
Thanks for any opportunities!

Thanks. That ebay listing sold in less than a day, and I didn't get it. I have to keep looking.

Thanks. Almost all of the vessel listings at smartmarineguide.com are well aged, and most are no longer responding to inquiries. The top two are live.
But, yes, there were a wide range of asking prices, from $3.9k for a '80, to @25.5k for a '79. It is a matter of finding one that has the features and condition you can accept for a given price point. I continue to look. I expect that the number of available vessels may increase when the sailing season winds down, and owners don't want to pay the winter storage fees if they no longer really want the boat. I thought the CDSOA might be a good place to look for possible sellers, other than Yachtworld, sailboatlistings.com, boats.com, craigslist, and the facebook marketplace. Sometimes word of mouth (or owner's forums) is the best way. Still hopeful.

You might want to add sailingtexas.com to your list to check.
