boom kicker
Jeff, I added a boom kicker to my typhoon and I am very pleased with the results. You can get rid of the topping lift and it provides support when sailing downwind in light air. I inserted an aluminum slug into the mast slot just above the halyard exit blocks to mount the fitting. After the boom kic...

Spartan bracket
Sea Hunt, Take another look at the Edson bracket. That 9 or 10 inch bracket that you see IS the removable part. The rectangle shaped reciever part only sticks out 1/2 inch from transom and is slighty larger than a credit card. If you've ever stood up on the aft deck area with barefeet I can assure y...

Honda 4 stroke/2 hp
Mark, This is my 3rd or 4th year with the 2hp Honda. At 28 lbs. it's light enough for 1 person to take on and off. I remove it and lay it under the cockpit sole while on longer sails, it fits snugly between the cockpit drain hoses. Be careful which side you lay a 4 sroke engine on, throttle side up!...

boomkicker
Peter, I installed one on my typhoon 4 years ago and have been sailing fine ever since! Easy to install. Tap some holes in the boom and I slid an aluminum dowel piece in the mast slot below the gooseneck to attach the other end so that I didn't have to drill any holes in the mast. Getting rid of the...

I removed the original tilt bracket and replaced it with an EDSON removable bracket which mounts on the transom. It cleaned up the aft deck area and when removing the engine the bracket remains attached to the engine. The only evidence left is a small bronze bracket thru bolted onto the transom. Ver...

Crossing to Abaco
Chase, I,ve spent 12 winters there and have never had a bad crossing. Mainly because I have no deadline to meet and I'm patient when it comes to weather windows. I would tell you to leave from Ft. Lauderdale or even Miami so that you are reaching or broad reaching and it makes for a much more comfor...

boom vang
I highly recommend BoomKicker for a typhoon with a 4:1 vang installed on it. This will enable you to get rid of the topping lift and also gives the boom support downwind, opening up the leech for better sailing. I am delighed with my setup and performance.
