6" Herreschoff Bronze Deck Cleat Wanted
I am looking for a 6 inch 4 hole Bronze Herreschoff Deck Cleat for my Ty Weekender. I have noticed that most weekenders only have one, on the starboard aft deck. To properly tie my boat up I require another , for the Port aft deck. If anyone has one for sale (at a lesser price than the bronze butche...

Re: Typhoon Daysailer for Sale
Dear Keith I am also a Ty owner and sailor on the Piankatank River here on the Chesapeake. One of our Ty group has been looking for a Daysailor for a while. He is seriously interested in your boat which I described to him(he is not a member of the CDOA, although he has been sailing one for decades). ...

Wanted,Good Used hanked on Jib for a CD TY Daysailor
Back again looking for a decent hanked on jib for my Daysailor. Since racing season is starting I felt that some of you serious racers out there will be getting new racing blades , will have no use for a previous years sail, and might be able to make a buck or two by selling them. Regards- Roger CD ...

Re: Westerbeke W13 Diesel Engine & Gear Box
Looks like the exact same engine that I have in my 1981 Sabre 30. I just finished putting a rebuilt heat exchanger in it and swear I will never do that kind of repair again due to the inaccessibility of the exchanger and lack of room to get to it and the hoses that have to be remade to make everythi...

Wanted-CD Typhoon Daysailor Sails in Good condition
I am converting my roller furling genoa to hanked on and would like to find a decent set of sails to replace the 20plus year-old set of sails I presently have . Anyone out there have a set of sails that still have a lot of life left in them and will be suitable for "just sailing" . I guess...

Wanted,Good Used Sails for a CD TY Daysailor
The sails on my Typhoon Daysailor are over 20 years old. Still pretty good for older sails but I would like to update them without spending an arm and a leg on new sails. Anybody out there have any half decent sails lying around that they would like to sell? Main and 150 ,100% hanked on jib. Roger G...

Re: CD TY Daysailor -Furled or hanked on jib
I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my inquiry about furled vs. hanked-on. I think I will stick with my furler and buy a racing jib (furled on) from Jerry Latell at Ullman sails here in Deltaville. I understand he has made quite a few CD sails for the fleet on the Rapahannock and they are pret...

CD TY Daysailor -Furled or hanked on jib
I'm surprised I did not get any replies to my request for advice on whether to replace my 20 year old furled genoa with a hanked on sail. The roller furling makes dousing the sail a pleasure but I have been advised that it also makes me a bit non-competitive. I am also considering a 100% jib (hanked...

CD Typhoon Day Sailor-Roller furling or hanked on.
I have a 1979 Daysailor- came with older sails (at least 20 years old but in fair condition). I'd like to get a new headsail to remain competitive with the other TY's here on the Piankatank (off the Chesapeake) and am torn with replacing the roller furling sail (a 160) or taking the roller furling o...

Re: CD TY Daysailor(Cuddy)-Bilge Drainage Problems
Skeep- The drain hole on the keel only appears on Daysailors, which are not self bailing. So we have to physically drain our bilges while sailing. The steel ring in the keel is not meant for lifting as I was informed in a previous post. It was used during the manufacture of the keel. The ring in my b...

Re: CD TY Daysailor(Cuddy)-Bilge Drainage Problems
Thanks to both of you who responded. The lifting eye was a mystery. I spent a few hours today using a pressure washer on both ends of the bilge-I just cant believe all of the debris in there-including peeled paint from the cockpit. It's draining a bit better but I still would like to know where the ...

CD TY Daysailor(Cuddy)-Bilge Drainage Problems
Yet another problem with my CD TY Daysailor. It's been on the hard for over 5 years-uncovered. The bilge will not drain adequately and had a lot of muck and flaked cockpit paint in it. I have tried shoving a stiff wire up through the drain hole in the center of the keel on the starboard side with no...

Re: Typhoon Daysailer Mast Stepping
Thanks Matt-
It is a 1979 cuddy Daysailer. I confused the hull number with my 1981 Sabre 30 which is hull#79.
I'm not at home right now and will have to get back to you with the Hull number for the Ty.
Regards-
Roger
