6" Herreschoff Bronze Deck Cleat Wanted

Post by rogergaby »

I am looking for a 6 inch 4 hole Bronze Herreschoff Deck Cleat for my Ty Weekender. I have noticed that most weekenders only have one, on the starboard aft deck. To properly tie my boat up I require another , for the Port aft deck. If anyone has one for sale (at a lesser price than the bronze butchers) please let me know.
Regards-

Try Jim Reineck at www.bronzeblocks.com.

He is not a butcher. He is an artist. A 5 1/8 inch cleat will cost you $82.

I've added the same to my TY. Check ebay...there's always some showing up. Two currently for sale this morning. Search on "Bronze Cleat"

Roger:

I am not sure if they are part of the "bronze butchers" crowd you reference but Spartan Marine makes quality (OEM) bronze cleats along with a lot of other quality products. They are admittedly not cheap. A 6" bronze deck cleat (4 hole) (Part #C203) is $42.

I think Roberto has some great advice. Not all bronze is bronze, especially the ebay bronze sourced from China.

I've seen a lot of Typhoons with a second cleat added to the stern. Most of the time it is a smaller cleat. I think the full size six inch cleat might be cumbersome with the motor mount and starting the motor. Just my two cents. My boat for the record has a second smaller cleat.
Sincerely,
