Re: Recruiting for a potential CDSOA Southeast fleet (GA/FL)

You are making me want to get south faster, (the eventual resident of Amelia Island)…!!

Enjoyed the postings on your CD re-build project, wish I was closer would have loved to help. I too enjoy the OCD issue and like to re-wire stuff until it's proper… working on my instruments this weekend.

Re: Recruiting for a potential CDSOA Southeast fleet (GA/FL)

What might help kick this off a bit quicker would be to tie this announcement the the other conversation string labeled "Best Rum". And announce that the --to be formed FL/GA CDSOA group-- will be hosting a Rum tasting to declare and score the best rums. Perhaps to offer the Official CDSOA...

Re: Southeast fleet??

Well, for what little it's worth, and it ain't much… I am a member of the Chesapeake Bay group and will be departing in a couple of years for Amelia Island. When I get south it would be encouraging to find a chapter of CDSOA members to serve the East Coast FL/GA area. Count me in when I get there…

Re: Seeking boat storage in Mayland

I keep my CD in Hartge's Harbor, about 15 miles south of Anna., very nice spot to get direct access to the Cheas Bay. A lot of folks from the DC area and Northern Va keep their boats in this area. http://www.hartgeyachtharbor.com They have both slips and hard storage. It's a full service marina. In ...

Re: Topside Block Installation

That "Is" the question. I am not sure how the current standup block is mounted, but it is assuredly not going through the top to a backing plate… That is why I am asking… It isn't obvious how it was mounted. Other, post build mods are all the way through such as the modified track to lines...

Topside Block Installation

Quick question if anyone has experience in this type installation. I am going to install an additional standup block, ( I have one topside for the mainsheet). This install will be for the boom-vang. Both lines will then go through a standup block and then their cheek blocks. Currently the the boom-v...

My other favorite aviation lesson.

You will always have enough range to get to the crash site.

Re: Noise from Edson pedestal

Also, take a look at the assembly you have on the Edson e-site http://www.edsonmarine.com/marinestore/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=84_92_273_280 Surf around to find your model pedestal and some of the drawings give you a pretty good idea of what the mechanics look like inside the unit you have.

Re: Noise from Edson pedestal

A couple of thoughts… One of the things to check would be the nut that is center line aft. This nut holds the two cables with a small plastic assembly on the inside of the pedestal. It should be tight. It is also difficult to align during installation, use prayer and possibly a metal coat hanger to ...

Edson Steering Pedistal (Lessons Learned)

Under the category of practice everything once a year because eventually it will happen, I now have another practical factor signed off of my qualification card. During our last and what was to be final underway of the season the transmission cable gave up the ghost. I mention this on the board beca...
