Thank you. I'm dealing with a little bit of seller's remorse today, but I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with her. I can easily see us returning to the Cape Dory family (INVICTUS was my second CD) sometime down the road. Immediate plans involve a boatless existence until I retire from the N...

More photos added

I removed her winter cover today and started cleaning her up for the season. I also snapped a few photos and added them to the website. https://picasaweb.google.com/jsturm70/INVICTUSCapeDory25DForSale?feat=directlink https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_zgFS7mKP2XU/TY54cvrHaII/AAAAAAAAAM0/j8TDE_N84Pc/...

For Sale: 1982 Cape Dory 25D with Trailer

For Sale: 1982 Cape Dory 25D with New Triad Trailer $19,500 Our new baby and my impending Navy transfer forces us to sell her. With a rambunctious 1-year old, we are kidding ourselves if we think we’re going to get out on her more than once or twice this year. She deserves more than that...and, w...

ENGINE: That is what I usually do with the engine. If you didn't winterize it yourself, make sure the water pump impeller is in correctly and the cover is on; some people pull the impeller for the winter. Also check your belt tension as some manuals recommend loosening the belt for the winter. FW: I...

Re: 1gm water pump removal

Looking at the engine manual, it looks like the crankshaft pully must be removed to get the water pump out on the 1gm? Havent done that before, is it straigtforward with the right pully pulling tool? Does a new water pump come with all the shaft and bearings as a complete unit, or do you have to re...

For your "winter" web browsing enjoyment

Here's a pretty interesting website about a Canadian guy building a Devlin-designed sailboat over a period of about 6 or 7 years. I've been following him for about a year now and have been awed and impressed by his craftsmanship and commitment to perfection. Although it isn't a Cape Dory, I thought ...

It's a diesel, so I was just under my weight limit. I have big disc brakes on the trailer and that made it manageable. It was a BIG load though. It was a little nerve-racking and lots of stops to "rest" helped...

Mission Complete

Delivery went well. I took a lot of the prescribed advice and had no issues...although I didn't notice any significant fuel savings from the reduced prop drag! INVICTUS is now comfortably ensconced for the winter at Fort Belvoir in VA. Thanks for the help! Jeff [img]http://picasaweb.google.com/jstur...

Re: Traid Trailer for 25d

What did the triad trailer for your 25d cost Invictus? A little over $5k. I got a liftoff model with upgraded suspension, disc brakes, ladder, LED lights, and spare tire. Mike also hooked me up with a combined delivery to CT (we were in RI) at the time--I split the transportation costs with another...

I got a new Triad Trailer this spring. Bottom line - it's great! Well made, pulls like a champ and the boat fit it like a glove. He was a pleasure to deal with too.

I got the upgraded axles and brakes and don't regret the decision.

Enjoy!

ATN Top Climber is still available

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. With summer vacation, finishing school in Newport, and the move...I dropped synch with trying to sell this piece of gear. Now that we're settled in a SMALL townhome in Alexandria, we need to get rid of any extra gear that is laying around. Again, it's NEV...
