For Sale: 1982 Cape Dory 25D with New Triad Trailer

$19,500

Our new baby and my impending Navy transfer forces us to sell her. With a rambunctious 1-year old, we are kidding ourselves if we think we’re going to get out on her more than once or twice this year. She deserves more than that...and, when I transfer to my new ship, the ability to find the time to go sailing will be even scarcer than it already is. We have re-evaluated our priorities and decided that the care and feeding of a boat isn’t in the cards for the next few years. So, it is with great regret that we are placing INVICTUS on the market.

She is in great shape and is currently located on the hard in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC.

She comes with a 2010 Triad Lift-Off Trailer and an older 8’-6â€

I removed her winter cover today and started cleaning her up for the season.

I also snapped a few photos and added them to the website.

This is a sweet boat! Had a chance to look at her

this weekend (thanks again, Jeff) and I was very impressed. Unfortunately, the Admiral is a bit too claustrophobic to want to live aboard her for several weeks at a time, so I won't be making an offer.

But, this boat is in great shape and the trailer is a work of art. If you are in the market for a CD-25D, you can't do much better than this.

Sea Hunt, are you listening?

Hello Jeff:

Congratulations :!: The buyer's gain is my loss for sure.

I am disappointed I never got to look at her but from "Bibsters" description she must be a beauty. When your baby gets older I hope you will return to Cape Dory sailboats.

Thank you for your service to our country.
Fair winds,

Robert

Thank you. I'm dealing with a little bit of seller's remorse today, but I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with her.

I can easily see us returning to the Cape Dory family (INVICTUS was my second CD) sometime down the road. Immediate plans involve a boatless existence until I retire from the Navy. Post-Navy we intend to upgrade to something bigger for a couple of years of cruising on the east and west coast of N. America. After that adventure, I can easily envision another 25D for day sailing and weekending in Puget Sound and points north.

Thanks again,
Jeff
