Inflatable
The inflatable is 8 feet. The one you see is a Seaworthy. The only drawback is you have to put a cushion under the dink transom so the main sheet is clear. Otherwise it is a very secure.

Glad you are Ready to go Sailing
Ok, since all went so well, I can assume we will see Respite on the Chesapeake Fleet spring cruise. I think after all you have undertaken in these last few months you could use a little "Respite".

Groundhog Day
Yup! There will be blurb in the Masthead. However, it doesn't go into the detail of all the fun we had. Guess the ones who missed it will need to show up next year so they don't miss out!

RFI on the Repowering of a CD33 Hull
If you have repowered your CD33 hull, I would like to know what brand/model propulsion system you used, the number of hours you have on the system, your comments about your selected system, and if you are satisfied with the result. Please send me an email, PM or post your reply if you prefer. Thanks.

Similar Problem on Different Boat Fixed
Chris, You mentioned you had your fuel tank cleaned. This is what was done on a CD32 and years later, the same symptom you have occurred. The problem was a little scrap of paper toweling that was lodged in the right angle tank fitting at the top of the pick-up tube. When this tiny scrap was removed,...

Winch Size
I would use the largest winch that will fit. FYI, I am using Lewmar size 40 2 speed self tailing on a CD330 and find that I do need/like the second speed more often than not.

How I cleaned the tank on my CD28
I first emptied my tank and put the fuel in a fuel can. Since I had a diesel car at the time, I filtered the fuel and put it in my car. Since I was burning auto fuel in my boat at the time I was legal. Maybe you can filter the fuel and put it back in your boat if you can't find a more convenient way...

I would NOT use the sink Drain
The sink drain seacock should be closed when you leave the boat. So using this drain is not a good idea. If you have a manual bilge pump line, you can put a Y connection in this line making sure there is a loop in your electric pump line so water will not easily back up your electric bilge pump line...

Keep the pressure on to remove the prop
I agree with Oswego John on the choice of oil. Use a good penetrating oil. Put in oil on both sides of the prop until it starts to drip. Do this as often as you can for at least a couple of days. In addition, if can do so without losing ( someone permanently borrowing your equipment) your puller, ke...

Sparten Marine to Raise Prices
I was visiting Maine and stopped in at Robinson Marine Center. It was there that I was informed that Sparten is updating their price list. The increase is expected to between 20% to 30%! It will be published on their web site. It is scheduled to be released anytime but according to them, surely befo...

Still in the Dark
I'm not sure I follow you. The higher the reduction ratio I would think would make it easier ( a bigger mechanical advantage), therefore. more power can be transmitted. Kind of like a two speed winch! Obviously I'm incorrect, but I still don't see it.

Tranny Ratios - What am I missing
According to the ZF manual, a ZF-10 with a ratio of 2.045 to 1 can handle 38 hp at 3000 rpm. Additionally, a ZF-10 with a ratio of 2.722 to 1 can only handle 27 hp at 3000 rpm and if the ZF-10 has a ration of 1.482 to 1 it can handle 44 hp at 3000 rpm. I would have thought that the greater the reduc...
