Re: Sluggish Starting Universal M30 Diesel Motor
The Universal M30 is based on the Kubota D1101 or D1102 block. I would first check if you are getting power to the glow plugs themselves. A multimeter set to DC Volts, measure the voltage at the terminal on the top of a glow plug (positive lead from meter, negative lead connected to ground/engine bl...

FS: Airmar Depth Transducer (Raymarine) - $60 (Gorham, ME)
PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING! This is a Airmar P319 depth transducer. It came with a Raymarine ST60+ wind/depth/speed package. It is like new and has never been installed but was tested when I purchased it. I ended up using a different transducer that was a better match for my sailboat. This is a 50/2...

Re: CD 26 NewCompass Q
I don't have a CD26 and you didn't tell us what compass you are looking at but if you have a smart phone there are free apps that allow you to measure angles. It's an easy way to measure the angle of the bulkhead.

FS: Voltage Regulator Hamilton Ferris - NEW $80
PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING! This is a NEW Hamilton Ferris Power Products voltage regulator . This was purchased as a spare to keep onboard for emergencies but never used. I have since sold the boat. This should work with most externally regulated alternators like Balmar. It includes instructions an...

Re: Radar Alarm Amplifier
You might want to tell us what make and model of radar/chart-plotter you have. I know some of the Garmin (even the current low end units) have a provision to add an external horn or buzzer.

It's been a few years but all my dealings with them have been very positive, 2 Profurl furlers, all standing rigging Tides Marine Strong Track and lifelines. They were helpful with advice and knowledgeable about their products.

Re: CD 30 Mk II Cabin Window Replacement
I have no direct knowledge but it would not surprise me if they used some version of 3M VHB tape. Even if it was not used originally it might be an attractive alternative.

Re: Another Online Scam - promoted by BoatUS latest email
No I do NOT think it is an official BoatUS site but a link to the site was distributed by BoatUS in a weekly email newsletter. I did report it but I have not received any reply from them. Either way BoatUS should not be propagating scams to their paying members.

Another Online Scam - promoted by BoatUS latest email
Shame on you BoatUS! Here's a new scam, sadly promoted by BoatUS. boatnameregistry.com You can "register" your boat name with them for $35/year and "protect" the name from use by anyone else. As most people in the US know, boat naming in the US is not unique, and there is no rest...

Re: unstepping mast on CD 31 - question
I would hope that whoever installed the mast electronics and electricals installed some type of connectors, junction boxes or terminal blocks at the mast base. If your mast has not been unstepped in a while it would be a good opportunity to inspect all the rigging.

I have been doing touch up each season with Rust-Oleum Cold Galvanizing Compound Spray. It's the same stuff I use on the prop to keep the barnacle population low.
