Any suggestions about mainsail flaking systems: Dutchman vs lazy jack on 25D?
If so, who installed it? North Sails? Fairclough New Haven
Thx
Jim

Irene Damage
Irene hit Guilford yesterday. My CD25D had doule lines on, sails off yet the winds pulled a couple of cleats and she swing her bow onto the side of a larger sailboat taking off his rubrail and 6 feet of mine including toe rail. Stanchions bent and Tack Tick wind sender flipped off top of mast. Bow r...

CD25D Rub Rail Repair
Where the mooring lines fore and aft come over the mahogany rub rails, there is constant chafing on the rails. The lines are ok with antichafing covers but the rub rails are wearing. I'd like to put brass overlays on these areas and wonder where others get the brass? Any help would be much appreciat...

PSS Seal White Power
I got this reply from the PSS engineer: Hi James, Thank you for the email regarding your PSS Shaft Seal. The fine white powder that you see could be either salt of calcium. In either case it will not cause damage to the PSS Shaft Seal. I have seen this on many seals because when the shaft is rotatin...

PSS Shaft Seal: White Powder
I installed a PYI/PSS vented shaft seal in my CD25D as part of a repower. No leaks at all in 2 years but noted this spring a fine white powder, not salty tasting around the unit. The boat sat for a few weeks unused this summer and noted yesterday a small amount of white dry power on the engine pan u...

CD25D Bilge Pump Temp Solution
Thanks to Bly and Kevin Hartley for shepherding me through installation of a Rule 750 Mate pump. They had wonderful suggestions for installing the 3-way switch and outlet hose. I ended up buying $6 of 3/4 inch flexible white ribbed hose, snaked it up through the hole in the board above the engine co...

CD25D Leaks
Thanks to all for advice on installing an electric bilge pump in my 25D. Now I found yesterday a new concern: wetness oozing from under the base flange on the raw water intake to the engine. Tightented up the four nuts holding the trhrough hull in place. Little improvement. Smeared gobs of LifeCaulk...

Bilge Weep 25D
I found the leak in my 25D's bilge. Cleaned it all out, dried it with towels and watched. Shortly after, a couple of drops appeared at th forward bottom end of the bilge in an area where the bilge joins a vertical piece that is likely the back end of the holding tank. It sort of oozes out of the are...

GM 10 Intermittent Alternator Function
My GM 10 is going on 3 years. Last year, once that I noticed, the alternator was not putting out a charge to the batteries as indicated by the electrical panel voltmeter in the boat. When I first put the boat in a couple of days ago, I noticed that the Yanmar panel light did not show the charging li...

CD25D Bilge: Seepage, Bilge Pump
I seem to have a slight salt water seepage into my bilge. Not cleaqr where it is coming from. I know this topic has been talked about before, but have others seen this, what is the best way to install an electric bilge pump and where to drain it, and has anyone tried any sort of water soluble sealan...

Thanks OJ. I have no idea for the path for oil into the cooling system - maybe ran down from the outside. I looked for water: the suction tube goes to the bottom of the sump and no water was sucked up. The oil on the dipstick was clear; the stuff I sucked out and spilled out of the pump aperture was...

PSS Shaft Seal White Powder/Spring woes
I noticed for the first time today that the black carbon part of the PSS shaft seal was coated with a white powder that rubbed of easily and was not salt (taste test). The seal had worked flawlessly on the 1" shaft of my CD25D/Yanmar GM10 now for 2 years. I'm trying to find out if the yard ran ...
