Boom track

Don't have such an animal on my Typhoon but I suspect it will may have been used for the clew outhaul in some fashion or maybe used to attach a pulley for the mainsheet. Do you have the usual stainless double ended strap in the end of the boom. One end for the mainsheet pulley and one to hook it to ...

Daysailers

Unfortunately I don't have the boat or documents here in London but my memory is that it was made in 1970. If O J's weekender was No. 56 and was self draining it would seem to shoot down my supposition that they were not made concurrently. I have a friend with the cuddy version and will ask him to c...

daysailor numbers

My Typhoon daysailor, open version, is hull number 55. It's my understanding that these were the first made followed by the cuddy version and then the weekender. Daysailors and early weekenders had no self-draining cockpits.

Pictures

Randy,
Have a look at http://www.nickprice.org.uk/typhoon.htm There are some pictures there of our extension which is very heavy but works well when it's hooked up. We last the extension on the trailer when not in use. Trailer is an early Triad.

Hi Paddy, That's too bad about the wind, it seemed nice and gentle for a first sail when we left you. Good trip back and we're hoping for a last sail tomorrow before we head back. Strike seems to be over for the time being so hope we won't be camping in Logan Sunday night! All the best, Nick & W...

Bump

In spite of several enquiries from people on this board, no one has looked at this pretty little boat yet. We have had Pattie B 3 years and are only selling because we recently bought a Typhoon daysailor. Next week she will be taken out of the water and wrapped up for the winter as we have to return...

Typhoon mast tune

Assuming the backstay is loose and the mast is still bent, it would seem your mast is bent from some other event, maybe being stored withoput support? I've bent other masts but never a Typhoon. They say that once bent it will never be quite the same again and have a tendency to take up that curve ag...

We use aq short shaft 2.5 HP Johnson 2 stroke. The motor bracket was modified with a couple of pieces of angle iron to drop the motor down closer to the water. Only works beacuse of the small size of the motor and used only when it's calm. If there's wind, you can sail.
