Typhoon in Maine

Post by ronkberg »

Hello, I am looking for a Typhoon to sail in the Portland, ME waters and would like to make a plan to see yours. I have a condo in OOB and am in Maine most weekends although I have a permanent home in Mass. Do you have any other photos? Is she launched or on the hard? How long have you sailed her and why are you now selling?

I will be in Maine Friday PM and would like to see her on Sunday afternoon if possible.

Please respond to my home email:
ronkberg.home@verizon.net

Thanks, Ron

In spite of several enquiries from people on this board, no one has looked at this pretty little boat yet. We have had Pattie B 3 years and are only selling because we recently bought a Typhoon daysailor. Next week she will be taken out of the water and wrapped up for the winter as we have to return to England on the 13th August.

Interested in your Typhoon!

I was in Phippsburg today to look at a (very sad) O'Day Tempest, but it was way too much of a project for me. I have a limited budget, as do most folks, but I would be interested in discussing the boat with you at your earliest convenience. I am out of town tomorrow (Saturday, August 6th) but will be able to call you on Sunday morning if that works for you. Here is my contact information:

Or post back here and I will follow up. I am very interested in your Typhoon, so let's talk!

Thanks,

Paddy (with two d's)

The new owner can't wait!

Looking forward to Friday afternoon: The weather is supposed to be clear, winds onshore at 10-12 kts and reaching out of the harbor on a slacking tide ... what better way to get acquainted with our new boat than a mid-summer afternoon sail! (by the way, my wife already wants me to install lifelines! )

See you Friday, 3PM-ish. Snow Marine Park launching will likely be the best bet: Follow Rt 1 North into Rockland until you come to the intersection of Rt 1 and Rt 73 (also Park St. and Main St). Take a right onto Rt 73 South and follow it over a set of railroad tracks and continue until you see Mechanic St on your left (approximately 1/3 mile from tracks). Take a left on Mechanic St and follow until you see a large field and Snow Marine Park on your right. The launching ramp is located there. Just let me know when to meet you and I'll be there!

Paddy (new owner of Pattie)

Oh, and for those of you that contacted Nick and didn't go see the boat: THANK YOU! I am sure it would have sold to the first person to see her!

I don't know if you plan to do any cruising aboard your new Ty, but if so, you are more than welcome to join a group of us other small boat sailors on an upcoming cruise from none other than YOUR home port! (how convenient is THAT??)

Details of our tenative plans on my web page, down towards the bottom, 2005 Maine Cruise. At this point we are expecting 5 boats.

Congratulations on your new boat!
