Without going to my boat, I was hoping someone would know the length and width of the main sheet on a 25D.
Thanks in advance

removing knot meter
I am going to be removing the Signet knot meter on my 1982 25D and before I shovel a path, untie the cover, get on board needing some other tool and climb back down I'm asking for any info that would help. I think there are 3 small screws on the backside but I'm not even sure these will free it all ...

Re: ablative bottom paint question
A lot of marinas are going to stop power washing this coming fall because they will be required to have a receptical for the waste water, very expensive. Maybe you should check to see what will happen in your area. Ablative paint wears off in the water, I'm not sure what the reasaon for not being ab...

compounding my problems
Is it worth the time and expense to compound by hand i.e. without power tools. I would like to do the cabin top, cockpit and deck area around non-skid. I've never used a buffer in this type of application and don't need to learn the hard way (especially on my own boat). The areas being small would s...

teak piece around rudder post
Has anyone replaced the piece of teak on the cockpit sole that is around the rudder post? My main concern is the hole for the post as it is cut on quite a bias. I have a plan but would like to have some input if you tackled this project. My boat is a 25D and the piece of teak is an oval that measure...

Good product
I used Kiwi Grip on my 25D and am quite pleased with the final result. I had a slight problem (which was my fault) because I tried to do a large area by myself and waited to long to remove tape. The problem was solveable and fixed up nicely. Follow directions closely. I had mine tinted at paint stor...

1 GM water pump
Installed new impellar and gasket, started engine and now have water dripping from what looks like behind water pump and under the engine on the port side maybe halfway in between front and back of engine. Engine was not started last year, pumps water fine, is it time for a new water pump, if so is ...

What?
Preventitive mode, I asked about zincs and thermostats and you had no idea, sometimes I wonder what kind of thought process is in operation. I recieved only 1 response to my question of replacement. Maybe answers should stick to the question proposed. Once again I find my opinions probably are offen...

! GM thermostat & engine zinc replacement
The last time I replaced thermostat and engine zinc was in 2003, am curious of other owners time schedules for this procedure. I'm not one to look for trouble but while it sits in my backyard the opportunity seems prudent

Re: question for you wood workers
If you're that intimidated by this simple project my advise would be to pay someone to do it for you, I don't mean to sound to harsh but some things are better left to others.

1GM fuel gauge
I am going to siphon the fuel from my tank by removing the fuel gauge. Are there any concerns I should be aware of before I create a problem by doing this. The gauge is made up of 2 parts, 1 is just the dial itself, 2 is the dial and another seal that is attached to the tank. My approach is to remov...

I had the hull of my 25D Algrip painted a few years ago (thanks to a lawyer that put his 10 ton trawler on a mooring rated for something much, much smaller) and although this does not prevent a mustach from growing cleaning is breeze with just a wet sponge. I don't mean to knock R.I. lawyers (too mu...

1/8" ?
Where was boat when oil change was done, and where is boat now? The level of engine will change quite a bit in different locations. If boat is now on the hard it is probably pitched aft to allow water to run off so checking oil level is tough to judge.
