1GM fuel gauge

Post by John G. »

I am going to siphon the fuel from my tank by removing the fuel gauge. Are there any concerns I should be aware of before I create a problem by doing this. The gauge is made up of 2 parts, 1 is just the dial itself, 2 is the dial and another seal that is attached to the tank. My approach is to remove the dial only because it has only 2 screws while the assembely of dial and other seal has maybe 5 or 6.

I don't think the dial is going to get you to the fuel. If you take the whole gauge out, you will have plenty of room to get a hose in there. You will also be able to check out the float and get a look in the tank. I would pull it right out and do what you need to do,steve.
