You just may be on to something there...

Hi, Melissa

When you say, "Why not just suggest I move it to a warmer area while we are at it", you just may be on to something there! :D

how about...

keeping the meltwater in the cooler, but the ice out of the meltwater and preferably an air gap around both the meltwater (tub) and the ice?

I'm embarrassed to have to admit I don't know the solution to this one.

Congrats, Tony!

You will probably find the manual very helpful. See page 69 for a drawing showing the cockpit drain arrangement:

Yes, it sounds like you are missing some hoses.

Jeff, I think you are right...

I believe it is one of those. I don't know how to tell the difference. That boat was located in Hatch Cove, behind Castine, Maine.

I really like Steve's method...

I'd be inclined to go that route for two reasons: First, you can load up the boat the way you expect it to be at a slip. That way the waterline will be based on your actual situation . Second, by setting the foam thickness, you can pick the height that you want the bottom paint to start (normally a ...

boot stripe boot tripe

With a small boat, I'm not so sure a boot stripe is all it is cracked up to be because they are so sensitive to how many people are aboard, whether there is the weight of an outboard, and what items are stowed where. Busca has a boot stripe but unless I'm just daysailing, it spends much time ...

Bly, at least yours is smiling....

mine is frowning  Miranda looks great! And I had to work around not only an outboard but a rudder and a boarding ladder. *arrgh*. Furthermore, the funny wrinkles on my boat's hull didn't lend towards the name on the sides...

Here is what I have...

not good for serious cycling, but not bad for a quick trip in to town (i.e. a whole lot better than hoofing it). They are really inexpensive, too. Notice the black storage bag.

I don't know of such a thing but that could be...

pretty easy to do, depending on what you have to work with. As Russell indicated, my first inclination would be to just lay it in the dinghy, so I'm assuming a more sophisticated arrangement is warranted for some reason. Are you talking about a conventional men's bike? Is the dinghy hard or inflatea...

Repeat after me: I think I can, I think I can....

I know someone on another board who is just the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet but he has a similar way of searching out every little reason for why something can't be done. My sister and her husband bought an old (1917) R-boat that had been built for Alexander Winton, the automaker. They found ...

a thousand miles isn't that far

I live in Ohio but I bought my boat from a guy in western Montana. She started out in San Diego, then moved to Washington, then Montana, and now Ohio. I used to sail with a guy who lives in Pennsylvania but bought his boat from someone in Texas. My nephew (Ohio) bought a Catalina 25 in Vermont. He d...
