Hi Linda,
Carter is a good friend of mine. After we spoke about skip's easy lazyjacks, I installed the same type on my cd25. They work very well and the cost is quite low.
I can't recommend them enough.
They are fantastic.

Joe - that's what I had
Hey Joe,
Yeah. that's what I had - Sperry technical shoe. I just doesn't quite wear like a leather moc.
I now opted for a much cheaper canvas sperry.
We'll see.

Crocs - getting slippery on the wet?
Hi Folks, Thanks for the thoughts on the Crocs. While I have heard that they are very comfortable, several sailing instructors that I spoke with noted that they loose quite a bit of their grip on wet surfaces and one instructor went on to cite them as actually unsafe on the wet. What has been your e...

Best Boat (deck) shoes??
Hey Folks,
It's been a while since I posted anything here. My Sperry technical shoes have pretty much run their course. I am contemplating going back to a traditional moc, but I wanted to see what folks here felt was the best (most comfortable yet best performing) shoe was.
Thanks!

Ha Carter!!!
Carter, you posted it! Bravo.
Warren, I looked for SQN as we motored out this morning but didn't see her.
I'm sure that you will be able to buff those out relatively easily -- ALTHOUGH, the yard should really be doing that work.

Bob C is right on the money!
Bob, I will forgive your invoking the Starbucks name while speaking about quality coffee. They stopped caring about coffee long ago. Seattle is, however, a (if not THE) coffee mecca. Cafe Vivace and a host of other greats reside there. Bob's info is dead on. French press is the way to go on your boa...

Teak Guard
Hi, We applied Teak Guard to the brightwork aboard Delphine (Sabre 28) this year. It was very easy to work with and therefore we didn't use tape. When wet, it does clean up with only water. What you might try with the dry teak guard overspill is simply scrubbing vigorously with a hard brush. It is a...

cotter pin length and angle
Hello Folks, I was awake late last night and so I turned on netflix (on demand) and watched some of 'Annapolis book of seamanship - part 3' Of course this stuff bores my wife to tears, but she was asleep :) They were talking about cotter pin length and about the angle at which the split should be se...

Someone in this thread mentioned that the 'Americans' are ahead. I don't think that most of us here would willing choose to group themselves with Larry Ellison. He's well known to be an arrogant a**hole. He spends on himself exorbitantly while his company is having issues, and pushes his weight arou...

America's cup. . disgusting
Hi Zelda, I understand your excitement about sail racing, but this America's Cup competition has devolved into an ugly legal pissing contest. These 'boats' are so far from the spec of any traditional sailing that they can't even operate in fairly benign sea conditions. Wednesday, the race was cancel...
