CD30C parts
I have some CD30C parts for sale. An Edson screw steering system, the wooden box that covers the steering gear, a kenyon alcohol stove and a stainless wheel (destroyer type). I am located in Ontario Canada. Please contact me through this forum to discuss. I have more photos this will only let me pos...

Lots of horses
That seems like a lot of horses to me. Our CD30C only has a MD7A with 13 hp of which 9hp come out as sound energy. It seems to move the boat around OK and we had no trouble maintaining 6 knots on Lake Ontario on a smooth day. On rough days we usually sail. It's certainly plenty for moving the boat a...

Reduction Gears
In the manual for the MD7A it is very clear what oil to use in the engine and reverse gearbox. However, the reduction gears don't get a mention and since they have their own dipstick and breather I would assume that at some point this oil will need changing. What do most of you use?

Check out Bike Friday
http://www.bikefriday.com
These might be a bit pricey but they are serious bicycles. We met a guy in Dangriga, Belize riding one. He came from Oregon, which is in the USA I believe.

Thermostat and reply to Neil
Strangely enough I replaced the 'stat on our engine at the begining of this season. The boat had not been used for a couple of years when we bought it and the stat was solid and the housing plugged with deposits and goo. I ordered a new stat, which looked nothing like the old one. However, it works ...

LED
Starnge this should come up - so am I! I was thinking of replacing the whole unit (s) with ones that use LED lights to save on battery drain.
Does anyone have any experience with these?

Forestay lengths CD30C
I would imagine that most of you have measured your forestay - I mean what else would you be doing all winter. The reason I ask is because on the CD30C I have it's 37' on the nose. Yet the book says 37'6" and a bit. Anyone else have any different measurements or any ideas why mine may be short?...

Propane tanks
Where does one put a propane tank on a CD30C? I'm looking for a good spot and I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Julian

Thankyou. I don't seem to have this in the owners manual I have. In fact there appears to be several pages missing.

Lengths
I expect that this topic has been posted before but I've searched and can not find the answers I want.
So is there a chart somewhere with lengths and diameters for sheets and halyards for a CD30?
Many thanks,
Julian

Sorry and Thanks
Hi, firstly thanks for all the replies and second sorry I posted that and disappeared off to Belize for a while. Yes engineless for space and for simplicity. Every boat I've been on, looked at or spoken to owners spend way too much time with the motor and associated equipment. With an outboard that ...

By the way
Just a by the way,
V=IR (Volts = amps x ohms)
P=I^2 R (Watts = amps squared x ohms)
Power in watts is also heat energy so if a device has a resistance of 10 ohms on a 12 volt circuit (i.e.1.2 amps) it will generate 14.4 watts of heat or light or fire!

Strange
These resistance readings sound mighty high. Are these just across the panel or is the load still attached? If so you may be reading the path through your bulbs, battery, etc.

Epifanes is great!
Sorry to sound like an advert but it's great stuff. You have to follow the instructions and better still get your other half to put it on! Seriously though there is nothing that can touch it for quality both on boats and other projects. We've tried several types on outdoor projects and canoe gunwale...
