Propane tanks

Post by Julian »

Where does one put a propane tank on a CD30C? I'm looking for a good spot and I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks,
Julian

tank mount

Post by Brian2 »

I have one of the horizontal tanks. They come with flanges with bolt holes to mount horizontally. However, I mounted it to a oak board, and then used U Bolts to mount the oak board to the stern rail vertically. Then I ran the propane hose through the deck using a gas tight propane thru hull type fitting made for bulkhead runs of propane hose. All fittings, solonoid, regulator, gauge, Tee, etc. are above deck. the solonoid is plugged into a 12 volt deck recpetacle, and controlled via a switch from a 12 volt distribution panel inside.

tanks and bracket

Post by MarcMcCarron »

Cleona has two 6lb tanks in a bracket off of her stern pulpit.
I had a SS bracket made for $260.00 at a fab shop. looks good,
is very sturdy and is out of the way. If you are interested I can
take a photo for you.
