Zinc Anode

Steve, I have used the zinc grouper anode for years. I hang the zinc over the side and make a wrap around a winch and run the line into the cockpit locker and through the locker to the engine block where I connect the alligator clip to the engine mount bolt. Has worked like a charm for years. Before...

Latches

If you are referring to the cockpit locker latches on the CD30 and not on the MKll, the latches are indeed available from Spartan Marine Hardware, pg 13 of their catalogue. Are $55 ea for the burnished bronze and can be viewed online at: spartanmarine.com.

PNW Rendezvous

Bob,

Thank you for taking the time to post your photos of the August 4 CD rendezvous at Stuart Island. Looked like you had some great weather and I was sorry to have had to miss you all. Hopefully next year.

Winch Size

Andy and Neil,

Thank you for the input. Was a great help and I will definitely put the largest Lewmar that will fit on the winch base. The existing primaries are an all bronze Lewmar No. 10. Probably haven't been made for years.

Winch Question

:?: I intend to replace the bronze, single speed winches on a '83 CD30 with single speed, self tailing winches and would like to know what size Lewmar would adequately replace the old Lewmar 10's that are now on the boat. I have the self-steering and furler and am finding that I need a self tailing ...

Campbell Sailor Prop

John,

Just replaced an MD7A on a CD30 with the Volvo D1-20. Perfect match for the boat. Highly recommend the Campbell Sailor prop. It's a three blade prop that does live up to all the hype.

Rendezvous

Mike,

Stuart and Sucia Islands on the 4th through the 6th of August is good for me at this point.

Nice to hear from Bellingham.

Rendezvous

Mike,

Thanks for staying on top of this.

Would be nice to get some Bellingham CD owners involved.
Possibly John Vigor might be a good start. His e-mail is on the Boat Registry.

Rendezvous

Mike, I'm pretty open to the time and place in August. Stuart sounds just fine to me; perhaps better since Stuart would be a new destination for me. Also, continuing on to Sucia certainly is a viable option. Perhaps you might select a date in August that is best for you and we'll adjust our schedule...

Mike,

Sometime in August would probably be best for me. Perhaps Sucia?

If you ever were a member of the armed forces or your family, USAA is a good way to go and no survey required.

Impeller Change

Aine Is your Volvo engine the MD7? I have just repowered my CD30 and no longer have the old engine but do still have the Owners Manual which I was going to discard. In it there are good directions on checking and changing the impeller. I would be more than happy to send the manual your way if you co...

"Mystic Rose" Repower

Darrell,

Have a '83 CD30 cutter with the MD7a that I will be repowering with the Volvo D1-20 in September. Any words of wisdom that you might like to share? Are you happy with the results and is there a reason that you chose Volvo over so many other alternatives?

Always keepin on,

Bob
