Robinhood Marine

I have been to Mecca. This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting Georgetown and seeing RM. I was thrilled to see so many CD's in one place and had the opportunity to board a RH36.

Refinishing sole

What is the best "varnish" treatment for a T and H sole in a CD 36 (or any other for that matter). I am looking for high gloss but not one that you will loose your footing on.... is that too much to ask?

Top Climber

A "Top Climber" is the way to go. Its safe, efficient, and you can go solo to the top when and if you need to. Great piece of equipment.

Bright work

I am about to do some refinishing of the brightwork on my CD 36. It is currently treated with Cetol. While its easy and durable, it doesnt have the look I love about brightwork. Other products to recommend? Has anyone used Bristol? In addition, any advise on technique for removing Cetol if I go that...

no stupid questions

I just want to chime in with my support for all of us that are full of questions, complex to basic. If we are to be inhibited from asking the board will no longer be as rich and useful as it is. All questions are welcome here and we should invite those new to CD's and sailing to feel welcome and sup...

Does anyone have experience with the ATN Mastclimber? Are their other systems that you recommend? I am looking for ease, safety, etc.

Cutter V sloop rigging

I have just rigged Solstice (CD 36)with her inner forestay. Im yet to decide if I like the benefits of the club foot. My question is this, how do others compare performance with and without the forsail and what is the best technique for coming about. There is very little area for the jib to pass thr...

trip north and west

I took solstice up to its new home on Lake Champlain from New Rochelle (just west of Marmaronek.) The trip N is a great trip. I wont add anything to the extensive comments regarding HG. The current in the Hudson should be planned for as well. While not dangerous, it can have a significant impact on ...
