Have you tried applying Hydrogen Peroxide with a small brush. I've had luck using this. Apply it lightly on a small area first. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes then rinse with plain water.

Teak alternative for cabin top "eyebrow" strips
Need some advice on alternative wood to use for replacing the "eyebrow" strips above the portholes on the cabin top on my CD22. The strip on the port side buckled and split at one of the retaining screws and is beyond repair. The other one has also started to split. So, I am faced with nee...

Settings for pilot and idle jet screws, Tohatsu outboard
I have a 2015 Tohatsu outboard, 6HP and 4-stroke sail-pro and need some information regarding the settings for the pilot and idle jet screws. Hoping someone can elucidate .... After battling an intermittent stalling issue (at the most inopportune times I might ad ...) and in frustration I finally di...

Slide-car for 3/4-inch T-track
I am trying to find a slide-car that fits on 3/4-inch T-track. My main-sheet traveler incorporates a 3/4-inch slide car with an eye to which the main-sheet control blocks are attached. The eye in the slide-car has become tenuously thin with use and I need to find a replacement. As some of you may be...

Re: Is a wind vane wort the price
My 22 came with a wind vane already mounted on the mast. Truthfully I don't find it particularly useful and instead rely on the "seat of the pants" indicators that John has enumerated so thoroughly (in fact keeping track of and using those indicators is one of the things that makes sailing...

Re: Advice on removing broken pawl spring
Thanks Rich, those pics look like just what I need! .... I don't get why they made those little springs with such short "arms" (saving on SS wire? )

Advice on removing broken pawl spring
Servicing my winches I've run into a small problem .... one of the pawls has a spring that has one broken off "arm/leg" (?) As a result I am having a problem removing the pawl from its seat/channel so that I can replace the spring and clean off the pawl. The pawl actually works engaging an...

Re: Cetol advice
Thanks for the feedback "jfischgrund" and Joe. Joe's comments regarding the degree of tint of the various finishes is what I was curious about and is very helpful since it is based on the actual look you observed. Now, if I could only order the outside temps to subside into a more manageab...

Cetol advice
Starting to plan for touching-up the toe-rails and trim which were done using Cetol by the PO. Mostly, the finish has held up relatively well but I am starting to get small patches where the finish is off entirely and the wood is beginning to gray. I am planning to use Cetol for this as stripping an...
