1983 CD27 For Sale $11900
1983 Cape Dory 27 in good condition. The boat sat for 10 years under cover and last spring I went through and spent a lot of time and money getting her ready. I had a trouble free and exceptional season of sailing with her. Westerbeke W-13 many new parts runs great, many spares included. Racor Filte...

Re: CD27 Launch and sailed after 15 years on Land
Great Stuff Pete, I got about 20-25 sails in this year, mostly day sails and spent about three overnights on the mooring. I am going to haul it on Monday and get a head start on 2019. I am shooting to launch mid April and hope to get 50-60 days on her. I would sail her every day if I could. Enjoy, S...

Re: CD27 Launch and sailed after 15 years on Land
Thank you Jean, and good luck with your boat. The North side is great and very protected. It is also great to use the launch dock to pick up passengers, something I miss having on the south side. I wouldn't mind keeping her in New Bedford but the first thing my daughters like to do as soon as there ...

CD27 Launch and sailed after 15 years on Land
Launched on Friday from Mattapoisett Harbor and sailed her 4.5 hours into a 18-25 head wind and steep Buzzard Bay chop about 15 miles, it took me and my Dad about 4.5 hours and we were pretty beat up but Karma Chameleon never once seemed phased. What an incredible boat. We put one reef in the main a...

CD27 Halyard
Hi, my 1983 CD27 came with two brand new halyards but they are 1/2" Sta-set. The current ones are 3/8" and one is through the mast and the other is external. Has anyone ever replaced there 3/8" halyards with 1/2"? The mast is on top of the boat and it looks like it will clear but...

Re: Insurance for 25
I used Progressive and had a loss last year. The salvage alone was 20K. I can't recommend them enough.

Spare halyard CD27
I have two halyards one that runs through the mast, and one that is external. I would like to add a spare for an emergency. There is a stainless "hoop" half circle at the top of my mast it is very thick. Would this be a suitable place to add a halyard block? Could I just have it travel dow...

Re: CD27 Starboard scupper hose.
The other gentleman here have a ton more experience than I so I will try again to replace the fitted hose with a marine type hose. Safety first, safety second safety always. HBD Thermoid makes a great wire reinforced marine hose called Bellowsflex. It is great for making tough bends and is Coast Gua...

Re: CD27 Starboard scupper hose.
Hi Roberto, I didn't replace the port side one as it still looked it in good shape. I think the starboard one being close the to the exhaust elbow shortened its life. I checked the Gates hose against the port hose and it looks like it would fit just as well. On the 27 the port side one seems easier ...

CD27 Starboard scupper hose.
After beating myself up pretty bad and buying two different hoses that wouldn't fit. I found a Gates Radiator style hose that will fit perfectly with only cutting off about three inches. It is the Gates 23233 and is available on Amazon Prime. It fits snuggly on the seacock and scupper barb and shoul...

Swim ladder standoff cracked
Hello, I noticed this large crack in my standoff to my swim ladder. It is made of thin wall stainless tubing and I am considering replacing with a 1" hardwood dowel. Do you think it would hold up and be as strong as the current one. I think it may be easier to manufacture myself then to try and...
