Boat rentals in Maine
Traveling to the coast of Maine late August-early September. Ultimate destination is Brookline, maybe Bar Harbor. Never been the Maine. Fun trip. Any recommendations on where I might be able to rent a boat for an afternoon sail. Also, marinas I should visit? 80th birthday trip. Sail a CD25 on Midwes...

Re: hull to deck jpint on CD25
Your are quite correct. My boat is a CD 25. After several visits to the boatyard, I discovered the error of my ways. I discovered a rail running beneath the deck and inside the hull. The deck is screwed to this rail. I assume the hull Is also supposed to be screwed to this rail. That didn't happen i...

hull to deck jpint on CD25
There are open gaps where the hull meets the deck on my 1974 CD 25. There does not appear to be any mechanical joint other than the rub rail snugged up to the toe rail. Any guidance on how I fix this situation?

Planning a 2021 sailing trip in Wisconsin's Lake Michigan
Need guidance. Want to sail Lake Michigan in the Spring-Summer of 2021. Recently visited Sturgeon Bay and then Sisters Bay. Considering sailing from Sturgeon Bay to Sisters Bay, stopping along the way to visit recommended spots. I live in Kansas City and know very little about sailing in these water...

Re: Rub Rail Project
How are you cutting you scarfs? I watched a You Tube video show own to do it using a mitre saw, but first you need to build a proper jib. Redoing the rub rails on my CD 25.

Re: Hinged mast step original to 1975 CD25?
I have a CD25 "74 model. I have that exact same mast step. Works well. I have bought some mast piece from Rig Rite and that fit and worked well. Hope this helps.

Re: Powering the CD25
Same boat, same year, same issue. I bought the boat with a 5 hp 4 stroke Honda. It fits in the well, just barely. Would prefer a bigger motor with and electric start. Problem is the newer 4 strokes are just too heavy. Too heavy to get up in the board and too heavy for the boat. They make the stern s...

Re: Outboard motor mount:
The hull number is 214. There are good tank mounts on platforms next to the well. At the top the well measures 18x13. Six inches down the well it measures 15x11. Also, the front all of the well is not good for using as a transom. It angles forward toward the cutaway. My current idea is to build a 1/...

Outboard motor mount:
I recently acquired a CD 25. The motor was stuck in the well badly causing the rear of the motor to vibrate against the back of the well. The motor also set too high, preventing closing the locker cover. The mounting board is a short piece of 2x6 bolted to two short pieces of aluminum angel iron that...

CD boat number
Recently purchased a CD 25. Is it possible the boat mf number is buried in the boat's ID number? The ID number on my boat is CPDE0216M75C. The title says it was built ion 1975. No number plaque anywhere on the boat.
