Re: Whale Gusher hand pump

Thank you all for your input and info. This is the same pump for my stern bilge bailer too, but it is not accessible for a photo. I will speak to Whaler and Defender and probably will remove from holding tank, but will rebuild/replace for stern bilge bailing. As usual this board is a wealth of knowl...

Whale Gusher hand pump

I need some info on my holding tank pump. I have a CD 25D. The hand pump indicates that its a "whale" ... "Gusher". I believe its fairly common pump on CD's, but I cant find anything exactly like it on the web or on the Whale Co, web page. Can anybody provide me with some info ab...

You are very lucky to have found a Great Looking boat!
Enjoy... and make sure you take good care of her.

CD brown boot line paint

I have been having trouble finding a place to purchase the brown boot-line paint used on many CD's.
I went to West Marine and they couldn't even figure out a way to special order it.
Does anybody know where to buy it?
Thanks

Re: NORTHEAST FLEET WINTER MEETING SATURDAY JAN 24th

Hello Captain! I am looking forward to attending this great event. (bringing my wife/co-Captain) Had a great time last year rubbing elbows and trading info with fellow CD owners. The knowledgeable CD 25D skippers (especially you and Joe) that I met at that event provided me with some valuable info t...

Re: Long Term Engine Disuse

Comments: I have an old 1GM that I need to know about/service to keep it operating properly. Your 20 maybe different, but here are just a few considerations: Yanmar has some good info on their web page for long term lay ups. You can call them or Mack Boring about particulars/questions. I have found ...

Re: CD25D engine compartment floor/bilge question

Thanks folks for all your comments. I made the final adjustments to the stuffing box bolts to about 1 drop every 10 seconds while under engine power, which I understand is perfect. After a six hour trip on Sunday there was about a 1/4 cup of water in the basin with a couple of drops of oil. I have c...

CD25D engine compartment floor/bilge question

I launched my newly acquired CD25D for the first time. There was too much water dripping out of the stuffing box gland... which has been corrected by adjusting the bronze gland bolts. But I was surprised that about an inch of water collected in the engine compartment base rather than flowing to the ...

Re: Typhoon Weekender Headstay Tension

I have had 2 Typhoon weekenders and know that my head/back stays and shrouds are ok when I can sail with decent wind on all points of sail and notice that the mast remains straight (line up with fixed/straight object on land), level with no bends and there is no evidence of any slack or sag on any s...

:) Here are two photos of my 1979 Typhoon, the Windstalker. I just purchased a 1982 CD 25D #68, so Windstalker will be up for sale this spring. She is a great boat. (my 2nd Typhoon) I will miss her but we need a boat that can take us to new places

Excited new CD 25D owner

:) I am new to the board and this is my 1st post. I own a Typhoon weekender (my 2nd Ty) and just acquired a 1982 CD 25D. I will be launching her in the spring and will be sailing out of Cape Cod, Bass River. Compare to my Ty, the 25D is a big step up and I have lots to learn about her. I would like ...
