Post by KMagill »

"SV Take 2" formerly "SV Take 2" (first posting!)

In her new home.
Purchased from a fantastic gentleman and sailor. "Take 2" is enjoying the Long Island Sound...

New Wax, Ready to launch.

I am very lucky to have acquired sure a great vessel. There is nothing better than working on such a well built and well maintained boat.
I have been reading through the message boards for quite a while and am finally getting around to joining in..

As a fellow "CD 25Der" she is beautiful. However, at least on my computer I am only able to see one photo. The other 3 photos do not appear. Instead there is a small black box with a white "x". :(

I do not know anything about computers. It may be my computer that cannot show the photos. However, I do see one photo.

Thanks for the welcome.
I think I know why the pictures do not show up..

Only the photo of the becalmed vessel is in the "public" Google+ folder..

I am going to do some moving of photos and re-linking of files and see if it help.

They all show up on my computer(s), but they are mine so they are not really "public".... :?

Thanks for the feedback..

Jim,
Thanks for the feedback. I think I figured out the trick. All photos need to be in a public folder.
Hard for me to tell since all of my computers are authorized to access all photos.
If you can see all of the photos, please let me know so I can be sure do it properly in the future.

I have to say, I love the 25D. It sails fantastically for its size. Even in the heavy air of fall on the Long Island Sound

She looks great! I see all photos, and the topsides are particularly impressive. Is that original gelcoat? Good luck with her!

RLW,

Thank you.

The gel coat is original. There was definitely some refinishing to the non-skid on the deck and clues that the rub rails were pulled at some point.
I originally though the deck was awl griped but I have not found any clues from over spray or missed area... :)
The boat has the usual crazing , but not very much. Mostly in the cockpit near the edges.

The picture shows the boat after it was uncovered in the spring (2014) when I went to look it over to purchase the vessel.
This was BEFORE it was cleaned. As I mentioned, the previous owner took very good care of the boat. He is still a great source of information as to continue the effort.
He used Collinite 885 "Fleet Wax", and now so do I.

Welcome to the forums. There is a trove of info here just waiting to be searched.
You have a lovely boat. I might have to try some of that fleet wax...
