Re: New sails suggestions for a Typhoon

Hi All,

Germane to the post by Louish. I am lake sailing my 1975 Typhoon Weekender. The older that I get, the less keen I am about going forward and changing out sails. Thus, I am having a CDI FF1 roller furler installed. Any thoughts on a 130 vs a 150 roller genoa? Thank you!

Re: Barient 8P winch

Thank you so much! I had searched our board and Google but did not see anything about the base swelling. Just as info. for others: The base on the Barient 8P looks like Delrin to me. It is interesting that Sweet Pea is a 1975 Typhoon. The port and starboard winches have been treated to the same love...

Barient 8P winch

Hi Friends, I have a 1975 Typhoon Weekender, restored to Bristol shape. My winches are Barient 8P. The starboard winch has "frozen" up. I took it apart; cleaned and lubed it. However, it still will barely turn. It seems that the plastic base has "swollen' and prevents the drum from ro...

Re: Unloaded Vehicle Weight of a Typhoon Weekender Steel Tra

Thank you very much. My guess was about 1000lbs. as well. Contracting Triad is a good idea. I did crawl over my trailer looking for a sticker. No luck.. Then again, it is a 1988. Thanks again. Doug Pearce

Unloaded Vehicle Weight of a Typhoon Weekender Steel Trailer

Greetings friends, I realize that our trailers are made of various materials. However, does anyone have a ballpark idea of the Unloaded Vehicle Weight (Dry Weight) of steel trailer for a Typhoon Weekender? I need to add this weight to the 2000lbs that the Typhoon (Hull# 904) weighs to see if I can s...

Sunglasses

I don't know how much this will help. I looked into this a few years ago and this is what I took away from it. The most important thing is that the glasses block 100% of the UV light which can do all sorts of bad things to your eyes including accelerate the development of cataracts. The wavelength f...

Boay Cover

:D Thank you. I am overwhelmed by the the help and great advice! Y'all (I am in Nashville, TN after all) have got me thinking about my question. Linda is correct. I want a summer cover. But, I want a winter cover. During the summer the the boat will be at a dock or on a mooring. (I haven't quite wor...

Good evening, I am the proud new owner of a 1975 Ty Weekender. While I am not new to sailing, I am new to CD and to this board. (My CDSOA application went in the mail at 0900!) Presently my new "baby" is under a Home Depot tarp in my driveway. Has anyone had any experience purchasing a &qu...
