Unloaded Vehicle Weight of a Typhoon Weekender Steel Trailer
Greetings friends, I realize that our trailers are made of various materials. However, does anyone have a ballpark idea of the Unloaded Vehicle Weight (Dry Weight) of steel trailer for a Typhoon Weekender? I need to add this weight to the 2000lbs that the Typhoon (Hull# 904) weighs to see if I can safely tow it. Thanks. Happy sailing, Doug Pearce

Just taking a wild guess here, eight hundred to one thousand pounds. Probably not more than that?

Triad makes trailers for Typhoons. Didn't see the info on their website but they could probably tell you pretty easy, at least a ball park number.

Don't the manufactures plates on trailers have that info? Sold my last dinghy/trailer last year and don't remember what was on the plate. Maybe only the max loaded weight.

Thank you very much. My guess was about 1000lbs. as well. Contracting Triad is a good idea. I did crawl over my trailer looking for a sticker. No luck.. Then again, it is a 1988. Thanks again. Doug Pearce

Since you have the trailer why not take it to a place that weighs trucks. I did that with a small camping trailer and it cost me 10 bucks for a certified weight certificate.
Just pull it on the scales, unshackle it and drive the tow vehicle off the scale.
I did this to prevent any warranty issues with my tow vehicle manufacturer.
