Re: Typhoon Weekender Boom Tent
Linda - Jim....my suggestion would be to use a local sail or boat canvas shop and have them do the measurements and placing of grommets for your boat. A lot would depend how you plan to use the cover, it you want open and closed ends, high enough to get under for shade or low and tight to reduce win...

Re: Typhoon Weekender Boom Tent
Good morning...the Typhoon's self draining cockpit will do the job. I've been on a mooring for the past 6 years and have never used a boom tent. Just keep the cockpit drains clear of debris and leave the seacocks open. Search the Forum posts for Typhoon seacocks and you'll find all you need to know ...

Re: Typhoon Weekender Boom Tent
Linda - Jim, the boom tent that came with my Ty is made from Sunbrella material and is 6 ft X 4 ft. There are grommets spaced evenly on each side which I assume are for tie-offs to the stays, cleats, winches or other deck hardware. I've never used it. It seems too small to me considering the size of...

Re: Typhoon Doohickey
Typically I use a Whatsit to loosen the Doohickey just a smidge before tapping the Thingamabob with a Wacker. If that doesn't work pry it off with a Whatchamacallit but be careful not to strip the left side Gizmo.

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
I have a Spartan outboard bracket mounting plate (Spartan Marine part no. P563) mentioned earlier in this post. Not sure if its possible to make something that will work from it. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Brass trim on Typhoon coamings
Use a short piece of that brass trim on the stern toe rail under the motor mount. Looks great and protects the teak.

Re: winterizing mooring
Here in Cape May we don't get the icing that you do in Maine but most of us in the CM harbor mooring field still take mooring maintenance seriously. That said, the past two winters we did get enough ice in the mooring field to drag some of the undersized moorings that less responsible owners have us...
