I have found the table legs at an RV store if you need to destroy it to get it out. They have the taper too.

One fit in my CD36 so I'd guess it would fit easily in the 33. It fit right in the same spot as the original head

Most likely its a voltage drop that causes the GPS to drop out. Operating your starter draws a large amount of current. You may need a new battery or operate the GPS on another battery besides the starter battery
