Re: Typhoon for Sale San Diego, CA

Thanks for all of you on this board that have helped me out with questions over the years. My Ty is gone to another proud owner and I'm sure he'll enjoy her as much as I did.

Re: Typhoon in New York Times Editorial Page

WOW, I'm siting here like you Kim in awe of what I've just read. I read OJ's piece first and then Verlyn K's opinion in the Times. One sparked the other, but it could just as easily been the other way around. It's dark, but my TY's in the water and I'm thinking of going down to the slip just to say ...

Re: Welcome to the new board!

When my post "Odd Weather II" came over from the old to the new format only one of five pictures was displayed; the other four just had an img address. Why is that? They all appeared on the old format.

OJ, You're up late. I'm the third owner and I know neither I nor the second owner installed the portlights; I've tried to find the first owner, but no luck yet. I'll for sure let you know if I find out the answer cause I'm curious also. The only other mods are the original head was removed and also ...

Sorry OJ, but I just could not resist the chance to respond to your Odd Weather post. I just can't figure out how to put up those PVC frames to keep the snow build up off Angelina here in San Diego. Any thoughts?

Robert, Lucy is a 9 year old Black Lab who loves the water, but she was looking at Charva a King Charles Spaniel who belongs to my friend on the Harbor 20. Lucy spent most of the time lounging on the cockpit cushions so you don't see her in the other photos. Scott http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums...

Odd Weather II

OJ said we Californians couldn't reply to his post on Odd Weather so I had to start a new thread. San Diego Bay, CA; Jan 1, 2012; 74 degrees; light wind; clear skies; except for the coastal fog creeping over Point Loma in one of the photos. Great New Year's Day sail along with my dog Lucy (wife stay...

OJ,
The rudder on my 1966 Ty looks even larger then Markst95's rudder. What went on in the early years with the Tys? I also did as you did by inserting fiberglass tape between the post and hull and it worked fine.

I've done it in a 7-8 knot trawler and it's a beautiful trip. There are quite a few books about it and it is a great adventure, but takes a lot of planning on the tidal currents. Seymour Narrows is a real thrill and must be timed exactly at slack. A CD 27 could do it with proper planning and plenty ...

Veterans Day

OJ,
11.11.11 is also Veterans Day; as an old USN salt don't forget to remember all our Armed Forces even more so on that day.

As far as I could see the whale seemed not to be bothered at all and may have enjoyed the company. We don't know enough to put our own values on this encounter; I've been there and was awe struck; like it or not.

I'm using AVG 2012 on Firefox also and have had the same problem for about a week. I'm doing what Duncan is; disabling AVG while on the Cape Dory Board and then turning it back on. Has anyone contacted AVG about this to see if any updates are in work?
