Where has my ocean gone?

Okay nautical brain trust, where has my ocean gone? Specifically the Sargasso Sea. For the last month it seems it is always low tide and the place is starting to look more like the Maine coast than pinky beach Bermuda. You want rocks? -- we got rocks -- rocks where we've never seen 'em before. The f...

tiller lock manufactured by Aronowitsch & Lyth of Sweden

Hello All, looking to install the tiller lock manufactured by Aronowitsch & Lyth ab on my Ty. Before I drill any holes, let me ask, if any of you installed this particular kit on your Ty? If so where have you placed the various components? Any pics would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Joe, I have already been in touch with George a couple of times and we look forward to meeting you when you arrive in Bermuda. Hey Tab, I'm the guy you're looking for. I'm in the phone book under Ron & Cindy. My "new" Typhoon arrived at Spar Yard late yesterday afternoon. I got her unwrapped and gave her a good lookover -- all the water rats hanging around the yard commented on her beautiful lines. I unpacked ...

1975 Hull number 24

Trapper, I just corrected the typo in my earlier post. Hull no. 24 is a 1975 model. Congrats on your purchase. I downloaded the pics of your boat when I first saw the posting. You didn't mull that one over too long -- only way to do it when you know just what you want. " Faith " has just c...

2toCruise, $8 a six-pack is a good price in the US -- about the same as what we pay here in Bermuda!

If I may chime in on this discussion, as a volunteer bartender for the last Marion to Bermuda race I can confidently state that neither my fellow Bermudians nor our visiting yachtsmen prefer any garnish at all in their Dark and Stormy. (If you want a garnish in your drink, sail down the river to L'v...

I'm thrilled for you Jim! She is beautiful! I too am getting ready to splash 1975 CD Ty G-24. I saw her in person for the first time today (from about 150 yards away) as she was off-loaded onto the docks. Hopefully she will clear customs this week and be on the water sometime next week. I look forwa...

Question on mooring bridle for Typhoon

Hello All, Good news is that CD Typhoon G-24 open daysailer has made it to Bermuda and is sitting "on de docks mon" awaiting customs clearance. Bad news is, I swam out to my mooring yesterday to discover my nylon bridle had disappeared! Can someone advise recommended length & diameter ...

CD Typhoon "G" open cockpit

Hi Mike, I actually haven't laid eyes on her yet (except in photos), but I am the new owner of a 1975 G model hull #24 "Faith" out of Toms River NJ. She is currently being upgraded and prepared for shipment to her new moorings in Mangrove Bay, Somerset, Bermuda. Hope to have her landed in ...

Spartin Marine spec sheet showing CD boom vang dimensions.

I have just changed the subject on this post as Jim Buck has come to the rescue and posted the needed document below. "Boom Vang Installation and Recommendations for Cape Dorys" from Spartin Marin is mentioned numerous times on the board, but the link appears to be no longer available: &qu...
