Thanks for taking your time to post all those beautiful photos! What a great boat show! Might have to find my way up there for the event one year!
It looks like all the CD's made a very good showing!

Home Made Baked Goods! At least a few times a year! No note. Just drop off a big plate of home made chocolate chip cookies unannouced, before break time. Not the pilsbury cut and bake kind either. Take a little time and follow the recipe on a package of milk chocolate morsels with walnuts. .. and ye...

An additional safety item. Anytime I am single handing my Ty, I keep my handheld radio clipped to my PFD or in a cargo pant pocket. I figure this way if I go overboard I can actually call for help instead of floating in the water watching my sailboat and my VHF radio sail away. With some weather hel...

At high tide our boat ramp in Milford is more than adequate for launching and retrieving a typhoon sized sailboat. We will need to build a tounge extension on the trailer, but other than that we should be able to avoid the marina charges. It's not that the marina prices are unreasonable, its just mo...

Thanks for the tip about the Brownell screw/pad parts. That was definitely a question I had. I found two trailers today that would work just fine. I also have found some great sketches on this website for typhoon trailer dimensions. Now I just need to find someone to do the welding work for me. Any ...

Building a trailer for Typhoon
Has anyone taken a road worthy speedboat trailer and modified it to carry a Typhoon? I can find very reasonably priced trailers in good condition, but would need someone to do the welding in southern CT or nearby. Does anyone have experience with this type of trailer modification?
Thanks?
Thanks?

drop boards
Here is a link to the drop boards my boat partner made for our typhoon. Three smaller boards are easier to stow below than 2 larger boards. The louvers are a nice detail and add lots of ventilation.

trailer
good luck... We have been trying to buy one for 10 months now with no luck. You can find them new, and they truly are very nice trailers, but I just can't see paying more for the trailer than I paid for the boat. the plan now is to by a road worthy used speedboat trailer and then have it modified to...

My boat partner made some beautiful new drop boards or companion doors for our typhoon. He added a very nice louvered panel in the middle board. This feature allows much better air circulation in the cabin. He used Mahagony rather than teak as it is much cheaper. (though not cheap by any means) He a...

Have read lots of reviews on-line for these wireless wind systems from Ticktack and I am afraid the majority are not so good. In all fairness, everyone seems to like the system very much..... until it stops working and then they seem to have lots of trouble with customer support and unrelieable repa...

Thanks for the detailed response. Like I said, so far we have not seen any signs of compression in the cabin top. We were out for a few hours yesterday in gusts to 25 and 3 footers on Long Island Sound. We did not reef the main, but only unfurled about half the Genoa. The boat performed flawlessly a...

Do the factory installed "Knees" prevent cabin sag
Yes I know this subject has been beaten to death over the years, but the one question I cannot find an answer to in literally hundreds of comments over the years is, how effective the Factory installed Knees are at preventing cabin sag. My understanding is that CD came up with these much beefier, &q...
