Dodger

You have a nice looking CD25. Although I'm not in the market for a new 25 (I have a 1980) I would like to know where you purchased the dodger. It looks nice on there!
Thanks, Jay

Snow covered boats

My boat is in the water at Herrington Harbour South on the Chesapeake. I've been to it twice to remove the snow off of it, once in Dec with almost 2 feet of snow and again this past Tuesday with about 20 inces or so. Both times everything was fine. Apparently I am one of the few at the marina that a...

Is it too late?

I just saw this event...haven't been on the board in a while. Is it too late to register? Jen and I would like to join the owners group and meet some folks that sail on the bay.

Cowl Vent

Well, I ordered a vent from Mikes Marine Supply about a month ago and still have not received it. They are claiming that the supplier keeps moving back the ship date. Has anyone else ever had any experience with Mikes?

Mooring

There is alot of great feedback here. I talked with the Maryland DNR guy yesterday and he had alot of similar advice. I am thinking that putting my own mooring down with known good stuff is the way to go. In Maryland, anyone can put a mooring down for recreational use as long as you follow the guidl...

Moorings

I am looking to move our boat from a slip to a mooring. I've never used a mooring, but mainly due to financial reasons, have decided to try it out. I would be purchasing an existing mooring with a 200 lb mushroom anchor for my CD25. It is located in a mooring field in close proimity to a public dock...

Cowl Vent

Thanks Kevin...I felt kinda stupid when it sank to the bottom. I looked around though and no one saw. ;)

I guess the 3" Nicro PVC Low Profile vents are the one I need. Does that sound right? I found one for $36.

Cowl vent

Hi there Cape Dory folks. Recently I was cleaning up our CD25 after a beautiful day sailing and my big foot came in contact with my "not so tightly fitting" cowl vent that is on the engine compartment cover. Well, over the side it went. As I watched it fading from view thought how conventi...

CD25 motor

I have a 1980 CD25 with a Nissan 6hp, which is the same engine. It works very well. I think the original installer had to cut down the motor mount because the motor would hit the engine well cover when it is down. X2 on the alternator...it is nice to have something to charge the battery.

This is great!

I really enjoyed reading this. Being new to sailing as well as eager to fish from my boat, this really inspired me. Though most of my trips will be in the Chesapeake I hope to have similar experiences. I would love to cruise in the area you worte about since I spend alot of time down in the outer ba...

I'm the new owner!

My wife Jennifer and I are the proud new owners of Glimmer! We had a great experience buying her from Dave and want to thank him for the smooth transition of this great boat. We spent our first weekend on her over the 4th and had a great time. We sailed on Saturday in fairly brisk winds and loved ev...

New CD25!

We do realize...in fact we received two copies of the issue with the boat documentation. I was very impressed with the organization of documentation that came with the boat. I think there is a manual for everything on the boat, including the original owners manuals for the boat. I have not yet read ...

New CD25!

Thanks for all the replys! We sailed our new girl across the Chesapeake Bay on Sunday and it was absolutely fantastic! The wind was blowing pretty good and there were pretty good waves. I am very happy with the way the CD25 handles the rough water. I was concerned about getting the boat into the sli...

New CD25 (soon to be) Owners!

Hello Cape Dory peoples...my wife and I will be (hopefully) taking possession of our "new to us" Cape Dory 25 this weekend! As long as the weather is good we and the current owner will be sailing her across the Chesapeake Bay from MD to VA. We are very happy to be new sailboat owners and e...
