Mast diameter -- CD25D and CD26

Does anyone out there know whether the diameter of the mast on a CD25D and a CD26 are the same? The sail area is the same for both boats, and I would guess that the same mast was used for the two boats, but I'm not sure. I am having a rigid boomvang made for my CD26, and the fellow making it has mad...

Great job!! Recently I've had the occasion to look at websites for other sailboats. I never really appreciated the CD site until I looked for information about other boats. I know a lot of people say how great the CD sit is, but if you've never tried to find information on other boats, you probably ...

Divide the world???

OK, it's very late fall, we have snow here in Ohio, and I understand about these threads, but I have to ask, why would we have a thread, particularly now, entitled "divide the world"?? Why don't we have a thread trying to bring the world together? Yeah, I'm a bleeding heart liberal (oops, ...

Boomkicker??

Anyone out there use a Boomkicker on their boat to replace the topping lift? If so, what do you think of it, is it worth the money? Is there an advantage of the Boomkicker over a regular topping lift? Are they difficult to install or to remove when you want to remove the boom? Any thoughts on this w...

I did exactly what you suggest on my CD26 this past winter. I had it done by someone who knows his rigging, a professional rigger. I used one of the winches off the mast, and have an organizer on the deck just to the starboard of the mast. The lines run back to a set of clutches and then to the winc...

I like sailing my CD26 with the 135 Genny only, but find that I have a much harder time tacking without the main, especially in heavier winds. In heavy winds my boat sails best with a reef in the main and the standing jib. With the larger headsails and/or unreefed main she heals over too much and no...

In a very recent post it was stated that all paid up members should have received a membership directory. I am a paid up member, but did not know there was such a thing as a membership directory. How do I get mine??

To Great Lakes Fleet High Priests

I'm addressing this general question to any or all of the GLF members who attended the recent GLF meeting in Oswego and especially to the officers, will there be a sail-in at Erie, PA or some other place on Lake Erie this summer, and if there will be one do you know the weekend yet? I'm making infor...

Bill,
I use a piece of large diameter PVC (4 or 5 inches) cut to fit the curve of the hull and epoxied in place. I also use mineral oil. It's a pretty simple operation, though I found it hard to cut the PVC exactly right and had to do a lot of epoxying to cut out any leaks. Seems to work fine.
