Re: pushpit seats

Ha, Those holes were to make the board lighter weight. It is 3/4" thick white oak. Perhaps one of the strongest parts on board. It's heavy. It really does add another element to sitting around the cockpit. Easy to eat on your lap from there. Easy to reach the Autohelm and adjust the buttons wit...

Re: pushpit seats

This is my solution. I cut some "keyway" slots in the edges of the board to hold a line with a knot in the end. Hangs over the stainless rail. Works great at Anchor, not so good while healing. I have since added two drink holder holes near the middle. Makes a great seat for cooking with th...

Re: bought a Ty Senior

For the old boat, I made a bracket that would wedge into the stairs. The procedure is to run the engine out of fuel. Lift it out of the well, move it into the cabin and onto the bracket. The lower unit ends up sitting in a bucket with a block of wood in it, to prevent damage to the sole. Bucket cont...

Congrats.
Lovely boat.
used to own one. Sold it to Megan, who is on this board.
Ask away. I have some great notes on it, someplace.

Re: NORTHEAST FLEET REMINDER: Rendezvous at Red Brook Aug. 2

Neil, I will look for you on your way back. We will depart Boston on Sat 8/24 to SBC, then Monday morning to PBY. A week of family cruising. I will miss the rendezvous, but then again, I don't fit in. Kyle Emma L. (with a new fuel Injector and Mixing Elbow courtesy of Scituate Boat Works, runs bette...

Re: Hammock??

Topping lifts don't last forever. I had my 9 year old on the end of the boom and the boom pulled out all the way. He likes to jump in from there. Well, I was rocking the boat so he could get higher. The topping lift snapped. landed on top of the stanchions, no harm. He landed, as desired, in the wat...

Re: Two (2) Lewmar #7 bronze Genoa winches for sale

I am just looking for a single bronze winch pedestal to go under that winch, but since you only upgraded the winches, I am assuming you are re-using the pedestal. Unless of course you don't have the bronze Pedestals and have the fancy fiberglass boxes...

Re: Need Marina/Boat Club Recommendations in MA/RI

Just one more opinion to share. We live in Newton and sail out of Cottage Park yacht club in Winthrop. 25 minute drive, we sail after work on Friday evenings. What I notice is that we are sailing the second we leave the mooring. There is no 20 minutes of motoring to get to an open waterway. The kids...

Re: CD28 "Trilogy" out of Red Brook

I will check at home to see if I still have them.
I know I recently deleted them from my phone.

The pictures were not exhilarating, but nice pictures none the less.
We could have used some more wind.

Re: Adding Spinnaker Bail

I did exactly what you describe. The fitting was expensive, but i was confident it would work. I have a rope ladder with 2x3 ladder rungs that I hoist on the main halyard. I can stand on the top step and get high enough. I also use a prussic knot as a back up on another halyard. ONce at the top I st...

Re: winterizing washdown pump

put some antifreeze, or cheap vodka in the water tank and run the hose until the pink stuff or the vodka comes out.
Same thing for the sink.

The vodka leaves a much cleaner feel in the spring time.
I have yet to use it, but that is what I have heard.

CD28 "Trilogy" out of Red Brook

I have some photos of your boat if you would like them.
Not sure if you are active on this board.

That was me in my Sea Sprite enjoying what little breeze there was.

Re: Ty Weekender storm jib

Fred, Always best to balance the boat, that is similar sail area in on the jib and main. I suspect that something along the lines of 90-105% will take care of any windy sailing you will desire to encounter. 75% is really small. Certainly CD's don't go upwind as well as some other more efficient desi...

Re: Any interest in Wellfleet 2nd half of Aug.?

We start our week on the 25th and heading south. Red brook, edgartown, OB, cuttyhunk then work our way back via scituate to Winthrop over labor day weekend.

I will look for any and all CD's as well as Sea Sprites.
