Cape Dorys are wonderful boats
Hi, as you can see from my signature, I am a former Cape Dory owner. I do like my current boat (Pearson 31) but I just love Cape Dorys and will someday own another one. Your last post you posed a few questions: Puffin (Ty Senior) was my previous boat and currently sails out of Lake Pepin (Minnesota)...

Consider an MP3 Receiver
the Ipod setup can be expensive. A more tolerable solution might be to make sure your receiver can play MP3 disks. If you don't mind the compression (my ears can't tell the difference on a boat anyway) it will allow you to combine up to 10 CDs onto one. Unless you already own an Ipod.... As for the ...

On and Off
Cathy is right on. "On and Off" is formulated just for removing the rusty discoloration at the water line. You will be amazed how it (the brown junk) just disappears when you paint it on. Once it's done its stuff, rinse thoroughly.
Sure beats scrubbing.

Building Your Own Boat
I too had the bug to try this. I had found an Alberg 35 that was in a condition where a total strip and refit was the only solution. I started researching other's efforts to do this and found the following: http://www.triton381.com/projects/restoration/restoration.htm This site documents with incred...

Sailrite Kits
Emile,
Check out SailRite. They have cover kits that are very easy to assemble even if you don't sew but know someone who does.

Loadmaster Trailers
I had a Ty Senior trailer built for me in 2000 by Loadmaster Trailer Co in Port Clinton, OH. Best experience I've had with a vendor. Polite, informative and best of all, they delivered on time. Prices were comparable with Triad and YES they too required a 50% deposit. You might want to check them ou...

1986 Typhoon Senior For Sale - Make Offer
Spring is coming and my wife and I are launching a new boat so we are parting with our beloved Puffin. She is a great weekend cruiser that has spent the past 13 years in the fresh waters of the upper midwest. I am asking $10,500 which includes a custom built Loadmaster trailer (purchased in 2000). B...
