sails
I'm in the process of buying a new genoa and learning lots about fabrics and design. Too much, actually. Would one of you just tell me, a cruising guy who will not be out in anything over 20 knots, which sailmaker to go to. I know that keeping your sail shape is a big deal, but realistically, how bi...

Deck, mast light fixture
Hi, I need to replace a two way lighting fixture on my CD 33. It is positioned on the aft side of the mast just above the spreaders. It looks like it illuminates both the mast and the cabin top- or its supposed to. Was this standard issue. And if it is not available what is an adequate substitute. T...

black tape shear stripe
Has anyone tried removing the original black tape stripe. I've tried several products with little success. Even a razor blade device barely lifted the darn stuff and it would take an entire day at the rate I was going. Thanks for any suggestions. John

Hey Mike, Getting together this summer in the San Juans sounds great..anytime. I can't wait to learn how to sail my craft properly. My boat is in Bellingham and Kingston. Great idea. A good reason to spiff "Adagio" up, also. Thanks, John

new Campbell Sailer prop, loss of rpms
I just installed a new 14x9 3 blade CS prop on our CD 33. I replaced a 14x10 2 blade. We have a 5424 Universal with the Hurth 2:1 transmission. I tested the boat for a couple of hours on two different occasions and discovered that the boat's engine will only get to 1800 rpms with the throttle wide o...

why does my boat list?
Awhile back I was looking at a Mason 33 and made an offer that was turned down. My search for great sailboats led me to this forum and I got enough assurance from all of you that I wouldn't be sorry. Well, I did buy a lovely Cape Dory 33 out here in "Vigor" country, aka Bellingham, Wa. and...

new cape dory 33 owner
Hi, i,m getting really close to buying a beautiful CD 33 and have only a few reservations. the primary one being... how does it sail? i've been out of sailing for quite awhile and sailed only lighter finned keeled boats previously. I'm anxious to hear a few words of wisdom and experience from those ...
