I read somewhere that the tiller on my CD10 should have some sort of locking device to hold it securely should the boat turn over.
The tiller/ rudder on SeaPea just drop into the holders and swing frely. Only the force of gravety holds them in place.
Am I missing a piece of hardware ? I don't see a hole for a cotter key.

Yes, you are. I have a small L-shaped tab on the transom. It swings out of the way to mount the rudder, then swings in again to hold the pintle in the gudgeon.
