Tiller / Rudder CD10

Post by rchiare1 »

:?: I read somewhere that the tiller on my CD10 should have some sort of locking device to hold it securely should the boat turn over.
The tiller/ rudder on SeaPea just drop into the holders and swing frely. Only the force of gravety holds them in place.

Am I missing a piece of hardware ? I don't see a hole for a cotter key.

Yes, you are. I have a small L-shaped tab on the transom. It swings out of the way to mount the rudder, then swings in again to hold the pintle in the gudgeon.

Rig-Rite sells them as "Swinging Rudder Stops" - at the bottom of this page
