Speedseal

Post by moctrams »

I have two (2) Speedseal covers for a six (6) screw Jabsco pump that I bought for my old Volvo MD7A. One is new in package and the other is used and still OK. Check out their web site for price.
I will sell the one for $45.00 plus shipping and the used one for $35.00 plus shipping. I will also include extra seals.

The pump on an MD7A is made by Johnson, not Jabsco. I'm guessing you've got the right covers for the Johnson and just confused the J names.

Not confused at all. The pumps on my old MD7A were Jabsco
2760-0001 , six (6) screws. I'm holding one in my hand now that I'm selling on eBay.

Is this a shaft-driven pump on the back (transmission) end of the motor or a belt-driven pump on the front (flywheel) end of a motor with fresh-water cooling?

Thanks.

Makes sense now.

Those pumps were not Volvo original equipment but, instead, were part of the after-market fresh water cooling conversion. Both Jabsco and Johnson make pumps which would be interchangeable in that application. The pumps I was thinking of are the shaft driven pumps that run off the back of the fuel injection. Those are Volvo original equipment and as far as I know those are all Johnsons.
