Cockpit drains

Post by Warren Moore »

My Cockpit drains on my CD 28 are clogged with leaves. Having never worked with seacocks before, I could use some advice as to the best way to clean them out.
Thanks

try a length of stiff copper wire, 10 guage or 12 guage. Or try a length of s/s 7x19 rigging. Then flush out with hose.

Then go to the hardware store and buy two aluminum drain strainers and cut to size. At about $2 each you can prevent the leaves from entering the drain.
