I own a 1976 Cape Dory 25 with plastic ports. They are old and I am worried they will blow out if a strong wave hits them. They need to be replaced.
Solution:
Can we remove the plastic port windows and replace them with fixed bronze windows? The dimentions of the windows are as follows:
(2) Large Windows: L = 32" H = 7.5"
(4) Smaller Windows: L = 14" H = 5.5"
If there are other people interested in replacing their windows on vintage CD25's please let me know and I will see if New Found Metals can build these replacement windows.
Economies of scale will help all us who want bronze windows on their CD25.
My first choice would be to build the ones that open however this will require significant modifications to the cabin. I think I can design ones that simply fit in the same opening as the plastic windows. They can be caulked and bolted into place.
This solution would improve the asthetics of all older CD25's.
Please email me if you are interested in helping me solve this.

I am moderately interested in the window solution that you come up with. I am a new owner of a cd25 (1974). I will be putting her in the water this spring in Chicago.

I wonder when they made the change to plastic frames. I'm fairly certain my 1974 CD25 had aluminum frames.
